Wow, y'all got so lucky dodging that fire, fire closure, and all the smoke!

I stayed at Diamond Lake 2021 hitched in for shower and laundry… Lovely family resort absolutely 💯. Breaking my heart 💔 to see 🔥. It gets really windy around the lake. Thank you for posting. 🙏🏻

Wish that water cache existed when I hiked. No water from Crater Lake to Thielsen Creek. Once-in-a-lifetime shot of the fire retardant drop. Great framing.

Forest fires are no fun. But that scene with the plane was awesome. The trail video is also very beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 👍103

The day of Fire! I just watched Hiking Dancers video this morning and she encountered a forest fire up close and personal just south of the Oregon border.

Awesome catch on that fire tanker! Unfortunately I’ve watched those twice a mile from my house. Scary to be on foot so close! Those fires blow up and double in just minutes. Obviously you are safe! ❤scary stuff!

Interesting how the older PCT trail signs have actually been encasedd by growth of the trunk!! Great shot of the airplane dropping fire suppressant 😮 impressive flying and dumping skills!!! Stay safe!!!!! I remember being near a fire and the weird colors and the feeling of crispy, dry skin and ash falling!!

Amazing video! You got through that area just in time! Hope you have good luck avoiding or getting around other fires up ahead. Oregon and Washington look like they’re getting quite a few, unfortunately.

Living up here in the Sierras, I’m sort of used to fires. But I have never seen a fire retardant drop like that. Amazing shot by you guys.

Your timing is “just in time”, so far you are going to miss all the PCT fires in Oregon except maybe near Cascade Locks.

7-25-24: Diamond Lake Fire now @ 825 acres. Lightning fires are an annual event in the West 😬. Luv the Thielsen Creek water source. Big miles! Oregon IS the “make miles” state! P much all my 30+ days were there.
