You have got to love these people. Not one complaint about cold, or altitude, being wet. Just living the dream!

Really enjoying your ideos. So glad you two are enjoying the Sierra. It is so fun the see peoples rea Rion the the southern Sierra. I am so lucky that I live with 2 hrs of Whitney and we do a lot of overnight and 2-4 dY trips there. Keep the videos coming and be safe and continue to have fun

02:30: I estimate that less than 1/10 % people hike the High Sierra, let alone through-hike PCT. Even as a non-smoker, I always suffered over 11k ft, but still loved it.

Thank you for sharing, awesome footage! Did you use trail runners for the Sierras or did you change to boots?

Curious as to what dates you were there. Also, is this route part of the PCT or a side trail? Great job, it's been fun to follow along!

I've always said PCTer's do not see the beauty of the Sierra. This video is proof of that. The section between Tyndel and Forester is beautiful, but its wasted on early morning starts and snow walking.

I've been through there spring and summer multiple times via both Shepard and Kearsarge. Each have their moments. What you give up in pre-dawn snow hiking is what they show at the top. Absolutely unsurpassed views. Later in the year you can x-country hike into high unnamed mountain lakes and fish by yourself. It's all good - like Dan remarked, nothing comes close to the High Sierra.

@@larkangel6593 Good to know. It's sad when PCTer's only know miles and not locations.

It's a different beauty in the winter/spring. I prefer August/September just because it is easier; though off-trail travel, which I've grown to enjoy, is probably a little easier in the winter as long as you have boots and crampons.
@michaelb17617 ай бұрын
I know this comment is well after the fact, but just in case anyone reads this in the future. You should not be wearing microspikes on anything close to the slope of Forester Pass (or Mt Whitney for that matter, or pretty much any pass). They are barely attached to your shoes and will only result in confidence until your shoe slides right out of the rubber bands holding them on. There's a reason that the manufacturer says don't use them on slopes greater than 10%. Traveling on ice like is shown on Forester Pass should be done with crampons (preferably attached to rigid soled boots) and an ice axe with the knowledge of how to use them. ANything else just adds confidence without adding any safety, a horrible combination.
