Why the bear cannister so early

Good question! Sean got the Atoms Pack The Mo 45L pack, and by the time it arrived about 2 weeks before the trail he realized it wasn’t going to have enough carrying capacity for our 5+ day food carries. So he figured he will need the bear can eventually and it will add a good amount of storage space so might as well take it from the beginning. So far we haven’t regretted it and it also doubles as a great chair! 😄 We also know the bear can isn’t required until the Sierras but right now we’re in Big Bear and some people were hiking with have already had bear encounters so also will be good to have now for food storage while camping.

I want to know about your diet while you're hiking! What do you eat for snacks?

Good question Kelsey! 😊 I think we’re gonna make a video talking about our trail diet in more detail eventually, but we eat oatmeal with peanut butter for bfast (and instant coffee ❤), tuna and/or peanut butter wraps for lunch, and freeze dried meals (Mountain House, Backpackers Pantry, Good2Go, etc), ramen (with peanut butter!) or instant mashed potatoes for dinner. Then lots of nuts, trail mix, candy, chips, cheeze its for snacks throughout the day. It really is insane how much we eat on trail lol
