The Top Gun training school moved from Miramar near San Diego to Palm Springs I believe. So Southern California you may see fighter jets often. Especially on drill weekends.

Snoring - the one thing I have found that works, and is lightweight for the trail! - is Somnifix mouth tapes. it sounds scary but it isn't; you won't suffocate! And you sleep better too.
