The handbrake thing is standard for most games that involve cars, My Summer Car, The Long Drive, even the Slaverian Trucker got handbrakes. Most vehicle building games also got it from pure physics, if you forget to assign some sort of device to engage the brake your car will roll down. It's not that hard to implement.

From what I've seen, this looks like a walking simulator, masking itself as a survival game. I'm guessing its going to be very linear, trying to fake being open-world, and tacking on crafting/survival mechanics, to tell its indie-walking-simulator story.
@GasparGa
@GasparGa 10 ай бұрын
@@mangaas What a weird comment. Even if it really was "just a walking simulator" with beautiful visuals, great atmosphere, interesting story, I would be 100% interested, but this seems more than that. It can't be more boring than any of the lazy moneygrab AAA games that came out recently can it?

@@kadnhart6661 You've played the game? You're commenting under an advertisement for it. And everything you listed, was included in the game so you can list it like so. Like a commercial listing cool features. Is it a true open-ended survival game? or a linear walking simulator, with stuff tagged on? Will I be done in 8 hours and never play it again, or does it have true open-ended replay-ability and survival aspects? Cause most walking simulators can just be watched entirely on KZbin for free.

I think the issue is people WANT good suvival games but... unfortunately indies are just too slow on updating them and its a mostly indie genre at this point, very few AAA studios tackle the genre. As much as people love indies, its hard to get hyped for a new survival game when you wont it wont have much content or completed features til like 5 years or more of being "early access"

they are a 19 people team and they have a publisher that probably finance part of the project, that's bordering into AA territory usual indie team is a few people and no publisher, they need to stay in early access to develop the game while building the hype/wishlist
@lastburning
@lastburning 10 ай бұрын
Early access is a way to keep up the sales. Once you release the game, you might see one more sales peak after which it will slow down. There are enough people who like playing and following early access titles. You're just not in that market.

Games are slow to make in the first place, and there's a very little portion of actual good indie games that are worth the shot on Steam (even the ones that get a lot of attention and are played by streamers are usually not that great), So, when finally, a good game like Pacific Drive releases, I don't mind at all supporting it even if it takes 5 more years to be fully completed

The fun thing is this game costs 30 dollars So if this is something you wanna sink countless hours into then it's not going to be risky like regular triple A games that flop or dissapoint Its not available at all on Xbox though which is a funny thing they usually pass on gems like this Steam, Epic store, Ps5 This game looks great

Really a good survival game immerses me a lot. For a single player chill experience. I like to explore, like to overcome difficulties, and like the feeling of having learnt the world and built the tools to achieve it. So the difficulty is not combat or grind, but understanding the world you are in and being smart about what you are doing. This is actually the best game design. This game looks like an old-school PC game with modern technology. It has this vibe of wonder, similar to what I felt playing Half-Life 2 when it first released.

Thanks to this video, I am profusely excited to play this game once it comes out! Huge sucker for Tarkov-like inventories and having a portable base of sorts that you haul loot back. Very excited for next month when it comes out!

Hope you were joking about being a speed demon. Dont be stupid guys, drive safely, theres no reason to put your life and others lives in danger bc you want your heart rate to go passed 50 bpm

This game looks so fun, feel like it could be a pretty cool multiplayer game, one person to map, one person to drive etc.
