Just popped by to say since buying an '04 MCS, these videos have helped me change a clutch, flywheel, rear main seal, input seal, polybush wishbones, dampers, brakes, swap ball joints, change a driveshaft, replace the exhaust, swap a cam, replace valve seals & so much more besides. I have what amounts to a mechanically at least, brand new Mini & I doubt I would have got stuck in if not for the invaluable resource this account is. Cheers Kurt.

It makes me sad that GP3 is an automatic. Not interested.

@@ModMINI Right on! I wouldn't have bought automatic. Is the newer gen Mini much faster than the R53?
@ModMINI5 жыл бұрын
@@elgringoec Stock for stock, Gen 2 is probably the quicker platform. More power, better brakes, smoother shifting, a little more confidence inspiring. Not quite as tight handling as R53 but very very close.

@@ModMINI Thank you sir! I kinda figured that but wasn't sure. Quick story for you... My wife became fascinated with Minis when we watched "The Italian Job". I thought they were silly, feminine cars. Years tick by and she still talks about getting one as it becomes evident it's time for her to get another car. I researched a bit then started looking for six speed S models. The first one I test drove, the guy at the dealer just gave me the key and said try it. I had a country road route pre-planned and when I got out of town I started getting into it and it blew me away. I was hauling tail on these back roads, whipping through corners and getting up to good speeds. I knew then that this was no girly car, but a high performance road conquerer! And that we had to get one. That one had some issues the guy didn't want to make concessions with, but the next one I checked we bought. That was ten, twelve years ago. We live in the mountains and this is a fantastic car for this twisty, elevation changing terrain. So much fun! Next to the motorcycles of course. And it's her daily driver to/from work. She likes it for its manageable size. BTW, the clutch replacement went well and turned out great. You are the man when it comes to clear, precise, thorough procedural process and communication of it. Blessings to you always!

Hello! I have been watching your tutorials for some time! I own a 2006 mini cooper s. I have a serious problem but am unsure how to resolve it. My oil pump as failed. There is no tutorials on this matter and would like to contact you directly for some advice!

Oil pump is inside the front timing cover.

I found your videos while looking up the R56S, thanks for the advice. It’s the N14, but it has been looked after and had money pumped into fixing the issues which I where your buying guide came in handy. I love my mini. Did you give up on the supercharged mini and treat yourself to the this? Finally, some of those guys might have you on the straights but you’d leave them for dust on a twisty circuit.

@@ModMINI what upgrades would you do to the mini n14 (other than just replacing it with a better model)? I saw that there’s an oil catch that can help reduce the coking. That’s the sort of mod I’m after, not performance as much as robustness.
