It's a well known practice and she just showed respect, it's quite normal and I bet many other people would react in a similar fashion. I remember a Muslim guy (friend of a friend) doing pretty much the same thing when we said a blessing at a festive meal, when asked why he done that he replied that God is one no matter how each of us call him and a prayer is a prayer no matter how or where it's performed.

Bro Rob! That yellow tail, in foil, on the BBQ pit with mustard/garlic/limon juice on it DELICIOUS!!!! Have never had a better YellowTail so GOOD...We were out in Ensenada BC and caught only 1 yellow tail. My Buddy a French Dude when we got home, put it in foil, added that sauce, and let it sit on the BBQ pit I belive for like 30-45 minutes. We straight obliterated that YellowTail or more commonly known in Baja California "Jurel"

I'm glad you mentioned that Bonita is a good eating fish. I caught one at Manatee county pier in Bradenton along with another guy years ago and I had an old fisherman tell me its tail cut its throat let It bleed and soak it in brine overnight . Very good evening fish !

I live in Cali, have family in Punta Gordo, and has been asking my family to come visit for over 15 years to no avail, lol, I hate bugs.
