Malaysia police motorcycle roadblock | Kawasaki Z900

7:23 for the roadblock. So you heard me whining about how terrible the stock tyres on the Kawasaki Z900 were in previous videos (Dunlop Sportmax D214).
I finally got frustrated enough to drop some money on a new set (Bridgestone S21).
Went for a run up to Gohtong in Genting Highlands, north of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, to test them out. The boys in blue were waiting at the top.

Two quite different bikes, both great. Depends what you will use it for. I chose the Z900 as I use it for commuting and I prefer its seating position and low end torque in the city. Enjoy your time deciding and good luck!

I have a British car and bike license and the cops seem fine with that. I also have the International Driving Permit to go along with it. I was planning on converting it to a Malaysian one, but I'm leaving Malaysia now so no need.

I've been stopped five times in Thailand; while helmetless, beer cans for mufflers 100cc scooters with sidecars cruise by. Seems big bikes mean big money to pay fines.

That's crazy. No wonder the mortality rate for motorcyclists is so high there. Have to say here in Malaysia all bikes get stopped, big or small. I've not had an issue yet, but seen even the little bikes get loads of tickets for missing mirrors, lights blah blah.

The s21 is gonna wear off pretty quickly if you go distance touring often enough. If memory serves me right it could go for only about in the low 10k's with hard riding.

If they last me 10k+ I'll be happy to be honest! I had supercorsas on my last bike and they lasted even less. I don't do long distance touring with the bike much these days.

Another great video PB. I own a Z900 since June 2017. Here in Greece, the Battlax T31 are great on the wet and very good on the dry. I hate the big and loud exhaust pipes (love this of my ER6n) and the red bikes :). Since I love travelling with naked bikes, I am going to use (not in permanent basis) this winscreen www.solomotoparts.com/Puig-Touring-Windscreen-Z900-17-19/ for which i've read good comments. Keep going!

Thank you! The T31 is a great tyre, and I was considering it. It's great for long distance too. I changed my exhaust to an Arrow now, but it's still not very loud - I also don't like very loud exhausts, and neither do the neighbours! I changed the exhaust, removed the cat, and put in a power commander with tuning. Peak power is only a few HP more, but I can feel a significant difference in the mid-range torque. The windscreen I fitted made a bit of a difference. The Puig you linked to seems taller (but also a bit narrower). Hopefully it will be even better for wind protection. I have driven across Greece before, and spent some time in Athens, Saloniki, Crete and a few other places. Beautiful country and such wonderful people!

By law, if exhaust is not factory fitted, get ready to he fined. But if its not too loud, then yeah ull have a better chance of getting through depending on the officer's mood.
