My car is the much slower non-turbo version of this car (ST184). It has an economy engine opposed to a performance engine; just like comparing an AE85 to an AE86. But, that doesn't take away the fact that it's still a hoot to drive. I do one day hope to swap that old thing out with a 3S-GTE out of this thing as well as a few more exterior pieces. Super sweet cars either way and I hope to own one (though they're super hard to find)
@PacificCoastAuto8 жыл бұрын
Did you get the one with the 4A-FE engine? That engine is the same as the AE86 but with a different head.
@SPEEDTRIBESAKURA8 жыл бұрын

Hi Derek, Not sure if this was asked before on your videos, but can you please fold the mirrors and talk about it's functionality on your next videos? Since these were not an option in the states on earlier cars/models. It would be neat for you to PUSH that button lol & show the audience how they work. Just saw that you showed the "LUMBAR" switch and immediately noticed the power folding option. Great vids man.

What's so special about this generation of Celica is the fact my dad used to own one back in his youth and the fact why it was so special is my dad had done really crazy Frankenstein modification by literally swapping the drivetain to 4WD to RWD and for the heart he had swapped in a 2JZGTE (I'm not quite sure but the only things he remember about the engine was it had a blue valve cover and was 3000cc) in short he said the modification he had done costed more than the car itself and it took nearly 2 months for the car to get road prepared and soon it was crowned as one of the fastest Celicas of Bangladesh Sadly due to financial issues he was forced to sell the car half the price he bought and modified and the new owner had trashed it after buying it

subie skyline34 I purchased a celica identicle to this car only slightly modified (body kit/exhaust/intake/sound system/rims) it has less KM and is cleaner under the engine bay, I only paid 3100$ CAN, however it is a narrow body style and due to the fact it's been modified they are usually a bit cheaper, stock cars are worth more unless you have 15k or more invested

love the guts of this car, but i can barely stand the looks of it..the body lines, glass lines, tail light lines, everything..ew, it's just some gay-car..way too rounded/puffy, way too feminine compared to ST165, which is a lot more of a manly car..i'd skip this one for ugly looks and chose an ST205, but without stupid side skirts and GT4 rear spoiler, with a ST202GT spoiler instead, but my true love would be an ST165..sorry for my hatred, but i'm too strict about cars and music, or maybe even everything, it's either i like or hate, nothing in the middle:/..but yeah, the guts of this cars are awesome, no doubts..and it's still nice to see such cars from the best period of car manufacturing..damn, how i hate all new cars - it's a disaster for me..
