I have only one issue with this. Frisk's timeline doesn't end. Flowey even says, when you load the game after true pacifist ending, to 'let frisk live their life.' It's YOU, the player, with the power to reset everything.

+Cold Ravioli This is being told as if the player is still in control of Frisk. So, as far as I am aware, the player kills Frisk to end the time loop once and for all because with her/him still alive, they could come back at any moment and change it all. Its truly sad.

"More to worry about with Papyrus," "Keep an eye socket out for yourself," and of course the same things Asriel said as he was trying to destroy you. "I'm not ready for this to end," "I'm doing this because I care about you," etc. All seems pretty foreboding.

What ? No, Frisk isn't us. The playing unit is made of three parts. Frisk, Chara, and The Anomaly (us). Flowey tends to mix up things calling us Chara but the Genocide Route obviously marks the difference. The Anomaly is what is responsible for the timeline resets (according to Sans in the Genocide Route) and for the resurrection, or not, of Chara. In a True-Non-Corrupt Pacifist ending, we leave Frisk to their own future, and Flowey asks us to leave it that way, except that he calls us Chara because he didn't fully understand.

After watching this I felt the need to write this. Frisk's life actually continues after the events of the ending. If you choose to stay with Toriel you can see a bonus cut scene after the credits of true pacifist. The misconception here and what a lot of other people think as well is not that Frisk goes back to the beginning once the game is reset, but that they keep their memory of it. Sans says it perfectly in his genocide fight; "Getting to the surface doesn't appeal to me anymore, either. 'Cause even if we do.....we'll just end up right back here, without any memory of it, right?" Which shows that if the timeline is reset, everyone's memories get wiped clean. Sans knows this because he's seen it all happen due to the time-traveler theory. But even with his ability, he cannot escape the reset. The BIGGEST misconception though, is the fact that people think FRISK is the one doing it all, when that's not the truth. the truth of the matter is it's not Frisk's doing, but the player's. The PLAYER has total control over everything. They can end the game and have everyone's lives continue peacefully, or wipe it clean, start over, and do things either the same of completely different from what they originally did. The saddest part about it, is the fact that no one knows it even happened. Sans knows about it, and even knows its probably happened to him a few times, but he is unaware of the direct impact caused by it. So if the player leaves the game be and doesn't touch it again, then Frisk's life will go one perfectly fine. What about different players owning the game? Well that's simple. They're alternate universes. Every copy of the game is just a different version of the same universe, they're not connected with each other. IMO I believe this is the truth, because of the evidence we are given by the game and logical reasoning with the events that happen in the meta and non meta of the game.

They aren't really diffrent timelines... Toriel after resetting reamember if you prefer cinnamon or butterscotch, Papyrus also seems to remember you a bit.

Flowey is a realy good example of someone remembering the resets for example: if you complete a neutral run and then complete a second neutral run before doing a true pacifist/Genocide run, Flowey will point out the fact that he knows that the souls will revolt and lets you skip having to fight omega flowey and then you have his dialouge if you kill toriel, then load a prior save and spare her

To me this was a goodbye between Sans and us the Player. The creater allowed us to say our goodbye at the end of our journey. But I suppose Frisk can be in control here as well, as Asriel said they did go to the mountain for a bad reason afterall.

Once I got the true pacifist ending(and on my first time playing it too) I was so happy. But then I found out secrets within the game. Even though I KNEW I could NEVER go for anything but a true pacifist run (because I love everyone in this game too much to ever hurt them) the secrets with sans, the hidden boss (that I wouldn't kill of course) and petting lesser dog, and finding out where that mystery key goes made reset the world a few more times. Always going for the pacifist ending and always digging just a little bit deeper into the story. But now...watching this video has made me want to put the game up for good. I want everyone to be happy. I want Frisk to be happy and live their life on the surface with all of their wonderful monster friends/family. Even if it means that I can never experience it again. How I long to see how Frisk as an ambassador, being able to watch Mettaton's performances, eating hot dogs and spaghetti with my two favorite skeletons. (I'm tearing up while typing this) But now I realize that by resetting, even if I am going to bring them back to the surface, was selfish of me to do no matter what the reason is. I will miss my goat parents, my skelly bros, my otaku lesbian couple, and my fabulous robot friend, but I love them too much to take away their happiness..even if it doesn't include me.

From how the dialogue is written and also the events surrounding the ending, I can see it going in either two ways: 1. Frisk doesn't want to say goodbye to her friends that they love so much, and so in order to be able to stay with them for as long as they want, they reset at the end, causing everything to go back to the beginning. Hence " I'm only doing this because I love you guys very much." 2. ( what I'm leaning towards) Frisks has found out the truth about them being unable to exist past the ending and thus has lost the determination to continue, therefore they commit some form of suicide in front of Sans who was unfortunate to witness it. Hence "This... just kinda ends for me."

Undertale loves to play on the importance of eyes. Asgore averts his gaze, Sans winks with his right eye when your evil to keep his left eye trained on you at all times. Even when we compare the sprite models to frisk and chara we see that charas eyes are open, and trained straight forward like a predator. This comic is no doubt using that same symbolism to hint that the "genocide route" is about to commence. Frisk turning their beloved friends into the "toys" she can continue to play with. Undertale proves love can be a twisted thing.

The whole reason why Flowey/Asriel Dreemur continues to fight and try to kill Frisk is because he cares about them and doesn't want them to win the game and be satisfied with a happy ending. He doesn't want the game to end, so he intentionally murders someone he loves to keep them with him.

And *this* is why you don't want to replay the game after getting the True Pacifist ending. That, I think, might be the game's one major flaw; I don't want to feel guilty playing a video game again! D: And, I'm not entirely sure, but I think if you get the No Mercy/Genocide ending, you're locked out of the Pacifist route on subsequent playthroughs.

That was the Monster Kid attending Toriel's school, I think. And regardless of having done the Genocide Run prior to the Pacifist Run, depending on your choice, Frisk is either lying in bed when Toriel brings them a slice of pie, or there is a group picture featuring the main cast and Frisk.

I stayed on the ending title screen for almost 2 hours after my pacifist run finally ended. I reflected about my journey, how it felt like days of playing through a story I grew to love. I wasn't ready to let it end either. But when I think back to all the things that had been said and done, everything me and my new friends had been through...well, I didn't want to have to put them through that again. Believe me when I say I wish it kept going, but I just couldn't do that to them. I suppose you could relate it to what Sans says in the Genocide path some people take: "If we're really friends, you won't come back." And so I didn't.

Damn this was all so well put together. The art style was really great, super effective at matching the tone the plot gave; the plot itself was a great insight into one of the unexplored aspects of Undertale; the writing was great in balancing the personalities of the characters so that Sans didn't seem totally selfless and the player didn't seem selfish; and finally the voice acting was so strong, the characters were not only lifelike but the actual characters' personalities came through as well. The editing was my only complaint. It wasn't bad, per se, it just didn't match the quality of the rest of this comic's aspects.

It dates all the way back to 2007. Also where the "Checkmate, (group name)" thing comes from. They were walking, talking meme/cringe factories. I was only 12 when I first saw these, and I could just feel there was a timeless, everlasting "charm" to it. Also it's funny how it caught on so much that people psychoanalyse those that wore it in the past to see if they share any similar traits. One of the things that made them explode so much was that there were two very *very* specific ways that they would talk. One would be all nihilistic "hah, bite me, we're all worm food anyway, your god can't stop your physical or moral decay!" (last pic) and the others would affect a sort of "english nobleman, can tell I'm superiour just by my tone of voice" speech pattern. I can't remember any of their names, sadly. They're also where "M'lady" sprung from as the ones affecting "Nobility" would complain about the lack of modern christ-removed chivalry and the like. Anyway, just a short rundown, I'm sure there's others who remember way more than I do.

I believe that Frisk does know whats happening, knows how many times the game as been reset. How many times they've seen the same things and done the same things. I think its so cliche, sad, and boring to think Frisk goes back to the human world, never resets, grows old, and dies. I think, Frisk goes back, again, and again, and again. Anytime some new player takes a hold of the game and starts a file. Its just another time Frisk went back. Thats another reason, why I love Sans so much. Its like he knows this, but has forgotten it, yet he has this nagging feeling that he knows he needs to remember. Hes the only character to show such depth.

Do you know why I love the Undertale fandom so much? It is because, even though technically speaking, "the timeline" ends for us when we finish the game... we don't have to go back, we can keep building stories and continuing their future with our hands. Toby gave us this great story for us to imagine and cry at the end, to feel like garbage for doing what we do: play. When I finished True Pacifist in the game, I refused to reset because I'd just feel like garbage, not letting everyone go, not letting my feelings be selfish enough to go back to the beginning just because I think it's a prettt game, I took it to my heart and decided to draw Undertale's future with my own hands... I will draw so many post-pacifist ending stories that will replace the timeline that ended for me :) Undertale will not end that way thanks to us.

you know what's weird about this game? it fills me with determination and that in itself isn't the weird part. it's partially because of all the extended universe that the fandom has created, but a large part of it has to deal with this comic in particular, but after playing and being integrated into this fandom I had a revelation about my own life. no matter how much I want it to be that way, there is no reset. I have to look forward towards the goals I want in life and then I should not struggle to continue to live comfortably in the world that I know, but I should strive to walk head first into the unknown, into bigger and better things than my life right now. don't get me wrong I love this game, I love the characters, as they remind me of some of my friends from high school. but, after my pacifist run, and with knowing who comes along with a genocide Run, I simply cannot reset my timeline. but only for the characters I love, but in a way by stepping away from the game that I love and accepting the life and say that I gave those characters, in a way, symbolizes the life that I wish to live and that I should never have any regrets about doing anything I have done in the past. I'll never learn the full truth of the genocide Run, but some part of me is happy knowing that I never went through and destroyed their lives. I realize this is a game, but I know that video games have the potential to become the most beautifully interactive form of media, and this has to be one of the best games I've ever played because it really got to me at my core and not many games actually do that

If you stop resetting and choose to live with Toriel, they all go to live on the surface. There's a cut scene showing them living on the surface. If you try to reset, Flowey of all people tries to stop you and tells you to "let them be happy" because you've saved everyone already. You only disrupt the timeline and end it if you reset. If you dont reset, the timeline for Frisk continues. Only the player (aka Chara) stops existing. The comic made the mistake of confusing the player with Frisk. (I know the video is just hypothetical, Im talking about in canon)

+Pizza Poosta It's more likely that A version of Frisk remained, but it isn't the same one that WE, THE PLAYER, controlled through the game. THAT version of Frisk either resets to the start of the timeline, or stops existing altogether when we close the game. Every time we reset, we leave A version of Frisk behind to deal with the consequences of OUR actions in that timeline, and Sans is most likely the only one who knows that, or at least is somewhat aware of something like that happening. So this version of Frisk, during the Pacifist ending, is the one that Sans is going to miss the most. Frisk might still be standing there in front of him, but it isn't the Frisk he knew up to that point. And who knows for how long he's going to pretend that everything is still fine until he resets himself to try to find us again. Just a little bit of my headcannon of the events after the Pacifist ending. :P

Timeloop is exactly that: a loop. It has a start, it has an end, and then it repeats forever. It won't end until what ever is causing it stops causing it. And that being that is causing it.. won't be satisfied until it all ends with them.
