Maybe you could keep the ones with the small scratches and mark them a B grade ! so over time you'll make B grade packages for people that still want to support you but maybe can't affort the full package ! Plus the scratch is so small when you bake them it might not even be visible anymore ? Good luck on everything and it's so cute ! Can't wait to see more of your journey !

honestly running a small business is a bit tricky even with doing the research there will be some mistakes that will occur. My first year doing an online shop I made back money to pay off what I made tbh and it was rocky. I wouldn't say I am making hella bank but I have seen a better payout on my end than last year! That is the beauty and the struggles of a small business

A possible tip you can try is maybe when you check/count all your blank phone case (8:14) you can use a sharpie or marker to just mark that you haven't removed the clear plastic yet. This way, before you put the heating machine onto the case, you can tell that the clear plastic is still there!
@sapph39043 жыл бұрын
When your print outs for your phone grips started giving off colors, it could be because of your printer, not the shrink sheet. You always have to give your printers and cricut and whatever machine a break when working on printing and cutting on a big batch. When you continously use them without a break, they will end up breaking sooner than their usage life.

If you put a piece of parchment paper on top of your shrinky dinks while in the oven it helps to prevent it from folding over & getting stuck to itself. Also, save your mistake pieces, lots of sellers sell their class b, c etc or “seconds” at a discount and even put together mystery grab bags for buyers. It’s better than throwing them away, at least you can recoup some costs, just make sure you have a disclaimer up letting buyers know the items are defective or damaged slightly.
You're so hardworking, talented, kind, artist I ever met in KZbin. You make these products with your own hands and money. I RESPECT YOU 🥺. Btw Merry Christmas 🎄

with shrink foil/paper, the bigger the work you make, the more likely it'll be damaged in some ways - though if it curls up and sticks, you can usually separate with tweezers midway (or knife, scissors, whatever that helps you not touch it directly cuz it is hot) and then it should be flat like the others you press down; key is to do this while it is still not fully done, because the plastic gets mallable in this stage before hardening. I did a lot of keycharms with shrink foil back in the day so I had my fair share of experimenting :D also, others mentioned too I saw but indeed, scratch marks and some spotty paint job doesn't necessarily mean it will turn out bad, it's worth to try to bake those too and see the results! the "fat one" was possibly a faulty paper, the heat probably did not distribute evenly and stopped the procedure in a weird way making small business is really tough, people often don't count in everything and assume someone is getting "filthy rich with their rich products" - my mom and I work as crafty-hobby artists but usually just for family and friends on discount price (or gifts for free) and the amount of hours you put in a piece should also be counted. The time you wait for materials, the struggle (and ones that end up unusable for any reason) are things you pay for too. Plus, your own handiwork is worth much more than a factory-done product that is done the same with precision machines in mass production. I'm hopeful your business will start flourishing very soon! you have everything set for success

Sublimation is when a solid turns into a gas without first turning into a liquid in between. If we think about water, ice will turn into liquid water before turning into water vapor. Dry ice is a good example of a solid turning straight to a gas.
You always give positive energy, absolutely incredible to watch until the end.

Hi Minori! I love your content and I would definitely buy your products! It was very interesting to watch you showing people how much money you’ve made and how you did it. However, it isn’t good to say you “started your own business” And that “it was fun to make and that’s all that matters” This way you’re teaching people to underprice their efforts and that it’s all good when it’s not. To call it a business you have to make money out of it, and most people who start a small business have a life to pay for, sometimes kids or elderly people to are for too, something you don’t have to be concerned about. Thanks for the content!

Minori, thats why I when I used Shopify I never messed with the shipping . And a lot of people were not thrilled to see the shipping for their countries from the US. tbf, that didn't bother me even though it cost me business. Nobody should expect a small business to bend over backwards and lose money just to get a sale. It's not worth it in the short or long run because then people will start to expect it all the time. Funnily enough. When I started doing things without shopify people were more willing to pay the shipping. It's weird but whatever. Shipping cost is what it is . Not much people can do about it. I wish you good luck on your small business. I have another one I'm hoping to get off the ground next year. :D

Just maybe a tip for the phone grips! Or in general when there is some mistakes in some stuff. But maybe you can sell The ones with mistakes, like little scratches, imperfections in general as B-ware! It’s just a cheaper than the perfect ones, and you don’t have to throw everything away. There are people that buy b-Ware a lot because it’s cheaper and some don’t really care for small scratches or anything. As I said it’s just a tip, but I see a lot of people sell stuff like this. Ofc if you just want to sell perfect stuff that’s also fine!

AA Minori, all your products are just so cute! Maybe in the future you can look into plastic packing alternatives, such as kraft paper or something like Vellum or Glassine bags, as opposed to the plastic Ziploc bags! Personally, I love buying from businesses that are as eco-friendly as they can be, even if it doesn't look nearly as cute, I feel more at ease buying products I know aren't as harmful and/or wasteful as plastic!

I love your videos so thank you for that! I sell on eBay I resell used items mostly. I did the math this week and really got down into the nitty-gritty of the expenses and figured out for every $15 item plus shipping paid by the buyer I end up with approximately six dollars. It was quite an eye-opener! I always thought my profit margin was more like 50% but so much goes into having a business that we have a tendency to not count all the costs. Thank you for your honesty with everything and being able to explain everything so details and making it simple for us to understand. Again love your videos I think you’re super sweet 😊👏👏👏😄

You are so adorable and I love your completely honest breakdown of costs at the end. Many artists still hold to the notion that costs, prices, and business matters are all completely taboo topics of discussion especially among other artists. But how are the next generation to learn to value and price their craft if we don’t discuss? Also, I definitely think this little packaged set from you was well worth what you were asking, but I would have paid $65 for it.
