Nice one guys. A versatile tractor, good all rounder. As a kid I spent a lot of time at the Steelfab factory in Cardiff who manufactured front end loader and backhoe attachments for tractors, mainly Fords. They also made their own loader backhoe in competition with JCB and the HY-MAC (Whitlock) 570. They built Shawnee pool articulated goose neck tractor /dump trailers, and the PowerX skip system trailers pulled by tractors. Nice to see loader attachments being used again!

Back when I was a kid, our "big" tractor was a MF 1135 w/ 135 pto HP (on the dyno) and our other tractors were Case 830 (65hp) & MF 265 (60hp) loader tractor did alot of things. Our "utility" tractors were a Minneapolis Moline Z (36hp) & IH Farmall M (36hp). The concept of a 4wd tractor was something just coming out.

To be honest horse power means so little comparing nowadays to the time of the old fords. I honestly believe that a 80hp zetor pulls better than a 6130 deutz. Modern tractors have so much shite in the exhaust (Egr scr def) it just kills the low end torque. Compare that to a 8 litre 6 cylinder of the old days! And low end torque is IMO what makes a tractor a good puller or not. My point is that an old 110 horse machine will pull just as well as a modern 150 horse (in most cases)

I’m running a small contracting business with a 6320 Deere and 6480 Massey- both with loaders, and a zetor 9540. Don’t have a telehandler, would be handy to have one but to tie up 10-20 k on a telehandler to not have to do a few extra shunts doesn’t make sense to me. I can load cart and tip a load of straw wirh the 6480 much quicker than I can with a telehandler and it’s a much nicer place to spend the day. We really bought the 6480 to run the big square baler but it tends to run the round baler too which frees the Deere up to do other work eg mowing tedding raking or chasing

@LordMuck4 жыл бұрын
agro.Giannitsopoulos All three are good but the top two are the Manitou and JCB. You need to see which one you prefer, which has the best dealer support in your area and which has the best price. Once you decide which one is best for you then that's your best choice.
@agroGiann4 жыл бұрын
Lord Muck i test drove both 542-70 and 741 scorpion and the only think i like more of the 741 over the jcb was the vario transmission cause the jcb has the powershift. My two previous telehandlers was hydrostatic and i know the better. Thank you
@agroGiann4 жыл бұрын
Lord Muck you are absolutely right and thank you for your advice. Most likely i will choose the british broduct ( cause i love jcbs) and i will get used to the powershift transmission.

We run a T5 115 on the estate, nice little tractor (actually it's our biggest tractor 😂) great turning circle, nice cab but wish NH would give some of the other options from T6 up like front suspension, around our lanes that would be rather nice! That's one reason I have my MB.
@jamieshields95214 жыл бұрын
Your right TL/TS replacement, T4 great little tractor but I need a little bigger like T6 to pull our 18t chaser bin/pull sprayer/seeder as these small don’t have enough hydraulic pressure but small cropping n livestock farm would be ok.

Horses for courses isn't it? Depends on the application it's for low buildings, tight yards smaller acreages. Larger acreage, main draft tractor work a larger tractor required. Depends on how many staff you have and the area you need to cover in a given time frame. You're right that it's stupid seeing a very large tractor with machinery that is way too small for it.
