...until the brake hose or di2 wire is broken during the transport. You want to carefully support the handlebar ends so the hoses and wires are not loaded too much. I like old style more, and rim brakes much more trouble free for travelling!

I have the same bike and travelled a lot with it. Make sure to have silicon grease and carbon paste ready for the seatpost. If you transport and move the seatpost often, the areas where the silicon is applied (rubber insert, i.e. weater proofing) needs to be regreased, otherwise the bike will develop the seatpost creaking. Carbon paste needs to be applied down where the bolt is that clamps against the seatpost, otherwise the seat will slip down if the original factory paste diminishes.

Glad I came across your comment, I ride the same bike (CF SLX 8) and noticed the seat post creaking taking the bike out for the first time this year. Canyon hadn't supplied any carbon paste in the packaging, do you have a brand you like?

@@ay18c I have the Parktool carbon paste and it works flawlessly. But the carbon paste is not against the seat creaking, the carbon paste is so the seat is not slipping (when you move it often for transport the carbon paste gets washed away over time), since there is only one bolt holding the seatpost with friction with the Canyon construction. You apply the carbon paste around the seatclamp area. The silicon grease is against the creaking and is applied to the elastic sleave that sits where the seatpost is inserted into the frame. You can use any grease here, but silicon is recommend since it does not degrade the plastic. There is a video by Canyon which describes where to apply both the carbon paste and silicon grease. But I had the same issue where the carbon paste was missing and the silicon grease was not enough. So you gotta buy some anyways. Hope I could help.

This is a box I rent but the box I would try and get is a bike box Allan is you can but if not then just make sure you have a hard shell!! Yeah I travel with both my bikes a lot and had no issues (touch wood) just makes sure you pack the box out with kit to protect it 🙌🏼

I can’t see a reason to honestly. The maximum pressure difference if you were to go to space is 1 bar. Now two things, we’re not going to space and surely a 1 bar pressure difference will not make any tire explode.

Not sure on the bike case as it’s rented, it’s like an Allan but it’s an unbranded version. The bike size is Medium but they do come up on the bigger side 😊

Thanks man, I’ve had the bike nearing 4 months now and I love the bike I would say that the wheels being 62mm do push you around in the wind if your light this would be a factor that I wouldn’t like about it other then that I’ve had no issues with the bike or seat post

Hi mate, yes I do take both of these. Grease and carbon paste. I pack them in the bike box and I’ve had no issues at all which taking them away. Help that helps 💪🏼 😊

Aeroad don't fit in many boxes because of the integrated stem/handlebar/internal hoses. Airfield workers might hate that ratchet strap mech sticking like that, better put it where it's like in a shelter and maybe cover with tape packing tape.

having worked at the airport for over 4 years, i would never travel with my bike. No matter how sturdy the package was, they always managed to ruin parts of the bike or have some parts missing out of the box due to mishandling. Btw. a lovely bike, getting my Aeroad CF hopefully in 2 weeks.
