Thank you SO much for a realistic, laid back explanation! As an outdoorsy gal coming to Ireland for loads of hiking and small town visits I really appreciated this reassurance that I don’t need to look like a “fashionista” to not look like a tourist haha Cheers from Canada!

Going in September for 2 weeks, sounds like Ireland weather is just like the Pacific Northwest. Living in Washington state we dress in Layers as well.

Currently stressing about what to pack for my trip next week! Forecast for beginning of the week looks good, but as you said, you never know with Irish weather. Not sure if I want to take boots for hikes or if joggers will do. I should just take the boots, even if they are going to make my suitcase heavier. Thanks for the tips, Laura! Rain or shine, it'll be a fun week.

I'm so hyped that I found your channel! I've already been to Ireland three times and going to visit again in late August for a few days. This time however, my mom is gonna come with me. It's her first time flying somewhere! And since Ireland was the first country I visited by plane...I thought it would fit perfectly 😊 Gonna enjoy all your videos! Thank You! 🤗

I'm going this coming August! Interested about the weather that time of year... guess I will include shorts! Still unsure about shoes besides my runners, maybe velcro sandals with good soles... but yeah I was wondering about shoes for visiting restaurants
@MoneBoomx3 Жыл бұрын
@@heathermcnamara1059 I went 'hiking' with my mom and wore my hiking trousers (I'm able to zipp them to shorts) and was very glad on that day! In 9 days we had 1 rainy day. Other than that, perfect (Irish 💕) weather 😊 I took my On trainers (waterproof), nice white trainers and my hiking voots with me. But it ofc depends on what you'll do trip wise and if you plan to go to a fancy restaurant or no 👍🏻😊

Miss Laura, it sounds as if the weather in Ireland is very much like our weather here in the mid-Ohio River Valley. In spite of what you hear about Seattle Washington or Portland Oregon, Cincinnati Ohio has the most annual precipitation of any major US city. As the old adage goes in these parts, "If you don't like the current weather, just wait 15 minutes, it'll change."

Thank you so much for your videos. Our 1st trip is this Sept 26-Oct 5. Off season, so less tourists. But I know the weather will be unpredictable. One question is - how much cash should we bring. We will have cards, but figured we should bring some cash.

😊 love that I found your channel. I only have one day before flight to start our road trip. I have tried to add a couple potential destinations already and thrilled to find a couple easier stops through Sligo from your travels. I wanted to be Mayo Co heavy, but my travel agent did not have good accommodations to offer in that area. I will likely target Mayo in plans for a return trip. Yes, thinking of planning a return before I even start my first. ; o ). We (mom, me, daughter) have planned altheisure joggers - very thankful that you mentioned this is culturally acceptable. I am about to catch your Causeway vid. Cheers!

I love your videos. You are extremely helpful. What socks would you recommend? With hiking and lots of walk..... but possibly being wet from time to time. I'm in the us. For me, it's typically cotton or smart wool if colder. I'm just wondering if you would suggest something different?

Thank you Laura! This was much helpful. Same packing list for March?
@Live.Adventure.Travel2 жыл бұрын
Haha no problem at all. March is an interesting month in Ireland. It's actually one of my favourites. The landscapes are just so beautiful at that time of year. However, I will say the weather is really unpredictable, sometimes it can be really sunny but sometimes it can snow (not crazy snow but it can be cold). I'd really just pack for all seasons. This video was actually for a March trip but I did have the weather forecast for the days I was due to be away at that stage. Sorry feel like I wasn't much help in this comment but best to be prepared

Love the video. Very helpful and informative. Question: there are a lot of horror stories about midges on KZbin. We are visiting this June 2023. How worried should we be about midges. Wouldn't some insect repellent do the trick? Any suggestion re best brand of repellent to buy? Thanks.
@Live.Adventure.Travel2 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm yes midgets can be a nightmare. Tooo be honest I just kinda put up with them. See there is no guarantee that they will actually be around in July. It all depends on how humid it is. I’ve never really used a spray for midgets usually just a repellent for ticks ect. Hope you have the best time on your trip 😊
@doloresaquines1529 Жыл бұрын
Jim. Midges are an absolute nuisance here, particularly on warm damp evenings. Misery. A repellent will help. There is one called "Jungle". Not too bad. Fishermen can usually give you the best hints as regarding beating the midges.

In September you could still have some nice weather days reaching around 18 degrees so I would probably pack some light clothes too just to be sure. Can’t go wrong with layering 😊

@Live.Adventure.Travel2 жыл бұрын
March is a great month to visit as we are just leaving winter weather behind but just be mindful that around St. Patrick’s day things almost double in price. Also, it’s hard to predict Irish weather but March is generally quite nice

I’m travelling to Ireland in November/ December this year. Any tips for packing for those months?
@doloresaquines1529 Жыл бұрын
Angel. It will be cold, and damp. Layers are a good idea, but ensure you have a warm, quilted jacket, say three-quarter length. Some thermal underwear is a good idea too.
