Good advice. Wish we had seen this prior to our Odysseys Unlimited trip (with Ramone) this passing September/October. We managed fine, but we were surprised at the variable conditions (from up high at the center of Santa Cruz Island which was a like a tropical rainforest, to the low-lands which were almost like desert Arizona). For us it was the dry season and we never saw any rain (but it was damp/misty at the Royal Palms where we stayed). For snorkeling, there was rental gear on the boat that was used... and in addition to a mask/snorkel, we rented the light-weight wet-suits (which really weren't needed because the water was reasonably warm).

Forgot to add that insects really were not an issue at all.
