Hi. In this video tutorial, I have shown how to pack Circles, Spheres, and Cylinders on Points or Mesh with the Index of Nearest Node of Geometry Nodes in Blender 3.6x.

Thank you! Do you know if there is a workaround for the Index of nearest node in 3.5? I would like to create this effect but I am using octane so I need to do it in 3.5

You can do that but it will be a complicated setup (Duplicate Element and Proximity Nodes). However, you can build in Blender 3.6 then export it as Alembic animation that you can use in Blender 3.5.

That's really cool, is there a way to remap the values so that the circles doesn't scale down to zero?

Yes, but for that you have to add the repulsive force using the simulation nodes/loop node. I'm also working on general method for collision😀.

Cool stuff!! But for some reason attribute "radius" is not transfered to shader anyway, all is black. I'm trying to understand why is that. Step by step i repeated after you. Blender 3.6.2

Hi. Have you checked the domain type in Attribute Store node and Attribute node (shader node)? Attribute Store node: Point Attribute node: Instances You can also send the screenshot of node-tree on my discord... I'll look into that.

​@@3DSinghVFX Thanks for the answer! I found it. That's my bad - i putted Store Named Atribute node in wrong place, not after the Points but after Instances. That's the reason. Very "flexible" setup. Just if few clicks it allows to custom in any way. Cool

Great tutorial -- thanks for sharing! Is there a way to pack more spheres leaving almost no room among them? Because even if I increase the density, the radius of the spheres decrease, leaving spaces between them.

Thanks. Try the Poisson disk option. Besides that, you have to use a dynamic filling of spheres using the Simulation Nodes/Loop Node...that will be a slightly advanced setup.
