You did a great job, awesome setup. I love the HDL 6. Wish you have more views and more gigs. Good luck man.

Love those bags you have. I was looking for something compact to use on smaller shows.

Curious why you didn't go with PreSonus CDL10P. That's what I have, and they are awesome!
@redshedrecords
@redshedrecords 7 ай бұрын
They only had the CDL12 at the time and on top of that, the CDL series doesn't have compression drivers, so the throw distance is not nearly as good as these RCF boxes. I have heard good things about the CDL though. They were considered!
@XIIMonkeysMusicGroup
@XIIMonkeysMusicGroup 7 ай бұрын
@@redshedrecords at half the price of the RCF, and being a Point Source Line Array, instead of a standard true Line Array, they are far more flexible for the types of shows and events we run sound for. Those RCF units, really do belong in arrays of 5 or more. Though they were an array system I was looking into as well, before the CDL10P came out!

I had played with the idea of getting some HDL6a's for a compact array setup but their size also worries me that there is not enough low mids and was wondering where do you normally use for your crossover points using those?
@redshedrecords
@redshedrecords Жыл бұрын
I think only having 2 boxes per side lacks a bit of low mids, and I was told 3 or 4 boxes will be the ticket. But the 2 still sounds really good. I added a wide bell of 300-400 in my processor and my crossover is at 100 with two single QSC subs. I'll probably add one more box per side in the future but I need to gig with these as is for awhile. They honestly sound so good on all instruments as is even with the 4. I did a 2 day DIY metal fest with them and was blown away.

I didn't have a ramp for my trailer for years but then I found a ramp on sale for 100 dollars and over a decade later I can say that was the best 100 dollars I ever spent. My amps racks back them weighed 400 pounds easy.

@@redshedrecords - I bought a wheelchair ramp years ago when I was trailering my equipment. Folded in the middle and was extremely handy. Worth every penny.

Harbor Freight has a nice folding ramp that I bought a few years ago for $100, works perfectly for our Sprinters and smaller vans as well. Safe your back.

I've been meaning to make a proper updated studio tour, so either I'll explain it in that video, or I'll be sure to make a separate video. In short, they are just pine or cedar slats with spaces between them.

How did you manage to get the AC750 to work with both mixing station and hotspot access? Would like to know how to configure that. I have the AC750 as well but only for connecting to the rack, not for internet at the same time..
@redshedrecords
@redshedrecords Жыл бұрын
Ahh so I was speaking on two separate situations. When I go do external gigs, I use it as an access point for mixing station. My own rack has a nighthawk router that is the main access point for my Presonus, and the AC750 shares the wifi to the nighthawk into its WAN port. Hopefully that makes sense.
@Bamibakker
@Bamibakker Жыл бұрын
@@redshedrecords ok thx. So you put the AC750 in share Hotspot mode? And the Nighthawk just acts as an access point?

First of all I am not here to trash you! I think your passion for what you are doing is very cool and I think you are going to find your way. But maybe stop trying to do it all, I don’t know what your clients will pay, but I doubt it can cover your time and your gear. You are probably going to invest into more gear before your clients paid for what you own right now. It is a wicious cycle. Here are something’s to know about your gear RCF HDL series speakers are build to be used as a line array. You can tune them to sound decent even if you use them as a point source, but the real fun begins when you stack atlas’s for or five of them. I encourage you to read bob McCarthy when you find the time and want to learn more about sound systems. One of the most important things is to time align your subs and tops so that they sum in your cut off frequency. The quick and dirty method is using a sign sine generator at the frequency that you choose to do the cutoff and listen to wether or not the signal is getting summed correctly. Maybe find some one to help you load in and out and take care of the lights for you. I imagine you are not having much time to focus on any of the task you lay out for your self in a show day. Best wishes

Thanks for the insight! I usually have someone help me out on show days to load in and out and run the lights. I don't aim to go too crazy with this venture. Just keeping a small, light, and effective rig to provide production to the few clients I have and whoever else needs it!

We do! We currently can only afford a multi channel headphone amp and wired headphone extensions unfortunately, but someday we will upgrade to wireless. There's a behringer HA8000 in my rack if you look closely. The powered monitors are when I have to provide wedges for another band / the event.
