Nice packing video! An idea in the wardrobe: shelves. We removed the protective facia panel over the bathroom vent pipe and placed 4 shelves that were 18' deep. We purchased the same poplar finish grade plywood and shelf pegs (with hole to screw shelf so as to not have the shelf bounce off pegs) from home depot. We drilled holes in the pocket cubbies and the panel between the wardrobe and bathroom (CAREFULLY as you can drill straight through - be sure to mark the drill bit for depth). The shelves are removable and can still use the hanging bar if needed. Rarely have we had an issue with clothes falling off the shelves in transit. All works well in getting more space for folded clothes. Happy to post pictures if folks are interested. Thanks again to the Delaney's! Your videos are greatly appreciated for us T@B 400 folks!

We had talked about shelves but Patty really wanted to keep the bar for hanging clothes so we opted to just use the cubbies and the packing cubes. Shelves would definitely be nice if you don't want to hang anything.

Thank you for sharing! Your videos are always interesting and useful. One thing I can share with you to be able to have more clothes hanging in your closet, you can use the tabs of a soda can, slide in the hook of the hanger in one hole, then in the second hole of the tab, slide in another hanger. Conceivably, you could two or three shirts hanging one off the other. Hope this will help you or your followers with this space saving tip. Safe travels! Dar

We discovered packing cubes when we went on a 3 and a half week trip to Europe last spring. Great for organizing a suit case. Only took a back pack and carry on a piece, because we hopped on and off trains, buses and cabs quite a bit. Stayed at Airbnb's and hostels. We're late 60's and doing all our bucket list while our health is good. Enjoyed our trip from Pa to Seattle this summer, especially with our new Tab 400.

Thanks for the "open house" your of your second home! I love seeing how other campers pack for a trip, so helpful. Keeping "like" items together is a really good idea (Truman station, electronic station, etc) & keeps you from endless searching in a limited space...I didn't see gummies or m&m's, tho - are they in a place near & dear to your heart...like the back seat of the truck? Lol! Safe travels, happy smoking & hot tubbing and see you guys #ondowntheroad 💜

Just got our T@B 400 BD last week; traded up from a 320 CS-S. We have the larger 3xway fridge but we also bring an ARB 50 that travels in our TV plugged into a DC port and when parked, I'll secure it to the wheel of our trailer and plug it into the AC port. The ARB allows us to bring more frozen type foods so we hope to limit the trailer fridge to drinks and those items that we don't have to keep frozen. We haven't gone full boon dock yet, so no generator has been needed. We also just got our Thule Cargo box and plan to use it for our seasonal clothing, plus our two camping chairs and the small trailer rug my wife insists we bring and set out to try and keep from dragging dirt into the trailer.

Thanks for another great video and sharing. It is nice to see your approach to packing in the 400. It just highlights how flexible the 400 is and allows us to personalize to our individual needs and travels. I put matching plywood shelves in the wardrobe and we each have a "Snap Basket" for our essential clothes. We put command hooks inside the wardrobe door for light jackets/sweatshirts. The under-seat storage is used for REI chairs, and King antenna. We find the bathroom storage to be great. Again nice job.

I’ve watched this video so many times! I am getting ready to order a custom 400 maybe this week. I should have it in time for üCamp. Since this will be my new home starting in May, storage is a big concern. Since I was planning to full time in my 320, all of your storage looks like a mansion. All those cubbies and nooks and crannies. Thanks again for doing this. Now I just need to get the windows measured to make my awnings! See you in June!

Thanks so much, I got a few ideas of how to better organize some areas in our 400. (You are so brave to open up your personal spaces to share.) I like packing cubes for clothes as well (for camping as well as other trips.) Someone at üCamp18 showed me a secret storage place behind the upper cushion on the passenger's side of the dinette. (She stored her rechargeable vac there.) It is quite a nice space for 'whatever' and stays secure during travel.

Thanks, we pack kind of similar, no pets so have more room in the side cubbies. Hahaha, similar goodies in the open kitchen cubby. We keep bread products, potatoes and apples were you have a microwave. I think we take a lot more clothes, my husband has almost size 13 eee feet, so his shoe storage and mine are under the table. We have never utilized the couch, just love having the dining area to stage meals and set things down as wer come and go. Sometimes we eat there if the weather isn't good. We have a lot of accessories to buy before we hit the road and you guys have been most helpful in educating us on what we most likely would need. Thanks again, and hope to see you "On Down The Road." PS I would like to hear your impressions of the Predator Generator.....
@TravelswithDelaney6 жыл бұрын
Thank you JP! I haven't really gotten to use the Predator Generator much so far but my initial reactions on it are all positive. I paid $699 and then added the extended 2 year warranty to it. It is so quiet and will power the entire trailer. I also really like the electronic start. The down side is the size and weight of it. We will see how it holds up over time.
@jpi66686 жыл бұрын
Patrick, thanks for your reply. I have been looking at numerous generators for our new T@B 400. Watching many KZbin tests and comparisons. I have talked to NuCamp and they recommend that we have a generator capable of at least 2800 W peak power to run our AC. The predator meets that requirement and is very quiet according to the tests I’ve seen, It provides the amount of power required , however, their reliability seems to be somewhat questionable. I think you were wise to purchase the extended warranty. However as I understand from some of the reviews I have read if you have to return the unit they will give you a new one but you would have to buy another extended warranty for the new unit. I am also looking at the Champion 3100. Did you consider a Champion before purchasing your Predator? The price considering the extended warrantee would be comparable.
@TravelswithDelaney6 жыл бұрын
I had looked at Champions a couple of years ago when I bought our first generator, a Generac 2200 watt. They do seem like good generators as well. My 2200 watt did power the AC with no issues however it was just a bit louder than I wanted. One of the reasons I went with the Harbor Freight is it seemed too good to be true and I wanted to find out for myself. It overall gets really good reviews both on their site and on KZbin. The real key is how it holds up but no more than we use it, I think it will work fine for us.

Thanks for a very useful video. I do have a couple of questions: Where do you store outdoor stuff (chairs, tables etc.) travel days? Also, does the red awning pack in the trailer or the Toyota? Do you have to weight balance if using the “whale”?
@TravelswithDelaney6 жыл бұрын
We carry 3 bag chairs in the back of the 4Runner. We don't carry a table with us. The red sunshade goes in the outdoor storage. We haven't had to do anything regarding weight when using the Whale other than it's only rated for about 100 pounds so I make sure i don't put too much heavy stuff up there.

@lizchilders41546 жыл бұрын
Did I miss your water hose and electrical one? Are they kept in the outside storage area? We probably bring too many shoes. Those go where Patrick has his bag. And that ever growing laundry bag goes in the back of the closet too. Am trying to convince my husband to hang his pants or shorts and shirts. There is a lot of room in the 400 and we modify as we go along. Bought a little flip lid trash can with a clip and connected that to our table leg. Will see how that works on our upcoming trip in Nov. Thanks for some good storage ideas to mull over.

The power cable goes in the outdoor storage. I haul the water hose in the bucket where the propane tank is. I just use a bungee strap to tie it to the propane tank just so it can't fall out during travel.

Commenting as I watch.✨ Thanks for confirming that I will want and use the hanging wardrobe, Patty. I prefer to hang my clothes. I’m sure I’ll need the bottom, though, since I prefer long dresses and skirts instead of slacks, and I hang my few pants, too. I also have a few packing cubes.✨ I’m impressed with the kitchen storage. The refrigerator is more important to me because I’m diabetic, so I eat fresh and frozen almost exclusively, and I need to keep my insulin, of course.✨ I was wondering what you did with Truman-centered items. I’m going to assume you put his water and food dishes under the table. Am I wrong? That’s been a dilemma for me: I have two dogs.✨ I hadn’t thought of putting a storage box on top of my truck’s cab for extra storage. I probably won’t need it, but thanks for the idea! I’ll be putting a truck bed cap on my truck, so that’ll be extra storage, too. I’ll need all of that for full timing, plus I may go smaller with a 350 instead, since I have a small truck and there’s only me and my dogs.🙂

Is that a full size Instant Pot or a Mini? I have a Mini and store it in the cupboard under the sink with the compact air fryer above it. We also store water, paper towels, tp, a small toaster, and cleaning supplies. Oh and I think I have a blender/food processor back there. I haven’t used it yet so might be time to evict it. We haven’t made the leap yet to getting a microwave. Not sure I want to give up the storage space. We put extra bedding in the area under the window. It works pretty well for that it gets warmed up when the Alde is on since the heat radiates from the shelf area. We put our REI chairs, hammocks, and some compact down blankets in the seat. Packing cubes are my jam. My husband still uses a backpack. I like packing cubes because I can easily sort things and take out what I need. I have been using the Amazon Basics cubes each time I travel.
@TravelswithDelaney6 жыл бұрын
Its the 3qt Instant Pot which is perfect size for the two of us on the road. I might end up putting my electric skillet back in the trailer....I prefer it over a skillet on the stove if we have electricity.
@aprilmarie18296 жыл бұрын
Travels with Delaney I use an induction cooktop when I have electricity. I got the one they have at IKEA and it fits perfectly in the bottom cupboard shelf with my two copper pots. I have a square pot and a shallow pot for frying. I have a lid for the deeper pan. I like having the flexibility of bigger pots that will work for both. I have a nested set as well but it is small and not induction.

Do you actually travel with the trailer cabin fully loaded like in the video (food, snacks, pots/pans, plates, clothes, utensils, etc)? Kind of a sideway question for you, how do you like the 4Runner for hauling and towing and, would you have a choose a different vehicle given the chance?
@TravelswithDelaney6 жыл бұрын
I absolutely love the 4Runner for towing the 400. It has plenty of power and plenty of braking even on large climbs and decents like the ones we encountered this summer out in Washington, Oregon and Wyoming. We average about 11.5 mpg towing between 65-70 mph. I need to do an actual video on my experience with it as a tow vehicle. I have actually thought about a different vehicle recently but honestly I love the 4runner so much that I really don't plan on changing. If I were to do anything, I might upgrade to a newer one but based on prices I think I will just keep this one for awhile longer.
