T. was initially offered the role of a snitch on Colors which he promptly turned down. The producers were so impressed with T.'s street and business savvy that they wrote his role as Dr. Feelgood specifically for him. Was uncredited as Technical Advisor in the hit film "Training Day" and also provided the film crew and its equipment safe passage as they filmed in his infamous neighborhood, Baldwin Hills a.k.a. The Jungles for two weeks.

I saw this movie when I was a teenager and this is one of the only scenes that stuck with me - how they call the "incognito" cop car Pac Man, and how it's just about the most recognisable and noticeable car there is - and I thought it was frankly ridiculous that they'd give cops that car. Later in life I became a cop. My first patrol beat we had an unmarked car that wasn't yellow - but it was pretty conspicuous and all the street kids and dealers knew it on sight. Always made me think of this movie.

Not back then. In the 50 and 60 chief of police William H Parker actually recruited a whole bunch of officers from the south to handle people just like that.
@gbody26172 жыл бұрын
They got killed, not fired. Trust me, the real ones in charge aren't the police. The police just have an understanding with them and get to do their job with the ones caught slipping but the real ones are given passes otherwise they'd be revealed as conspirators and most likely killed or someone in their family hurt or more. The closest to this is that movie with Denzel Washington.
@charles12032 жыл бұрын
@@gbody2617 you mean, “Training Day” the scene where they kill the drug dealer and set it up to make it look like a crime occurred my mother said she saw that happen in real life with the NYPD. There are all kinds of loopholes they get around. It’s funny in that movie Denzel says, “We’re the police, we do what we want to do.”. In real life one restaurant called, Twin Peaks there’s one location in Hollywood, Florida they used to have police there but they told me they had to replace them with uniformed, armed security because the cops were hitting on the girls too much and had that mentality, “We’re the police, we do what we want.”. So it shows how realistic that movie and those scenes are. How they will kill one of their own so they won’t snitch, oh yeah.

That drug dealer thurr, Dr. Feelgood was T. Rodgers. He carried a lot of weight in the gang world for real. Leader of the the Black P Stone Bloods out of Baldwin Hills. For peeps not familiar with Baldwin Hill's, they call it the Jungle. Very scary Blood neighborhood. It's the projects where Alonzo kept his "dime" and his baby son.
