Packrafting River of Golden Dreams, Hiking Blackcomb Mtn & New Air Pump

We visit Whistler, BC in our Roadtrek Zion campervan to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We give you some tips on RV camping and activities, hike on Blackcomb Mountain, paddle our Alpacka Packraft down the River of Golden Dreams, and enjoy tasty meals at the nearby Table Nineteen Lakeside Eatery (at the Nicklaus North Golf Course). We also show you our new portable air pump for inflating our packraft.

We took the train to Whistler from Vancouver for a day trip about 20 years ago, then a ski plane to one of the local glaciers. Had a wonderful time. Your trip brought back some fond memories. Thank you for sharing. Happy anniversary, and happy birthday to Precious! Safe travels......

I spent a week at Whistler just two weeks ago. It was really hot and sunny there. We go to Whistler every year for our anniversary too! I saw my hotel when you guys went up Blackcomb in the gondola...lol

Thank you for taking the time to do another beautiful video! Your kayaking took me back to the challenges of rafting here in Wisconsin's many rivers. Having a good lookout for possible problems helps! Wonderful to see Precious your "Super Senior" per her Vet. As a 2019 Roadtrek owner I am curious how has your Roadtrek been?

barney61ful glad you enjoyed and our biggest challenge on the river was avoiding potential punctures (albeit the packraft is very durable!). As for our Zion we have had two challenges...had to replace our underhood generator about 6 months ago and also one of our lithiums very early on. The latter works but on occasion acts up.🤞. That is an amazing age for a cat. Looks like she has cataracts. Were you ever concerned about puncturing your kayak on those sticks in that shallow river? Thanks for sharing all that beautiful scenery.

Yes, 23 is getting up there though not as uncommon as you may expect! And, her vision no longer perfect..still ok. If they made 👓 for cats we would likely have purchased! Worried about a boat puncture throughout, and would not recommend but we were careful and packraft is very durable. To a limit! Thanks for the comment🚐

@@hikenrv It is VERY GOOD to check your kayak for leaks before heading into a river, stream. I learned the hard way with a rented raft! My brother and I were in the middle of a 5 hour raft trip with a slow, hardly noticeable leak. After 1 hour we suspected a leak because of minor softening of some of the air chambers. We ended going ashore near a small trail and carrying the raft out to the hwy a 30 minute walk through brush and woods with mosquitos!! Happy Anniversary!!

Thank you Fly Fish for your well wishes and for also sending the link. We had heard and are feeling optimistic about the future of Roadtrek, and hope to do a quick update video soon . Saw in a separate article that they may consider bringing back Westaflia as well...but not for at least two years.
