I've watched most of your rimfire videos from the beginning, and I have to say that I very much enjoy the content and delivery...well done. I'm just starting to compete in NRL22 matches myself, and have learned a lot from following you...so thank you for your work and information. Question, you mentioned in an earlier video that you were changing optics away from the Strike Eagle. What are you running now, and did I miss the new optic's review. Thanks again.

Thanks, glad you’ve been able to enjoy the videos. I switched to the Athlon Ares ETR for the majority of the 2021 season, but recently acquired a Minox 5-25x56 LR, which I was using for this finale. My Ares is still being used on my CZ though, in fact I liked it so much I got another for a 10/22 build.

What is the best scope u should get for a .22
@EvWine3 жыл бұрын
What's your budget? For .22 in particular the most important things compared to centerfire rifles are the total amount of turret elevation, parallax down to around at least 25yards and for NRL/PRS style shooting past 200 yards around the 5-25x mag range. General recommended brands are Athlon and Vortex unless you want to spend more $.

Why didn't you use a sling on the maple seed stage?
@Womfat3 жыл бұрын
I had never tried to sling up with the W3 chassis and didn't want to try it for the first time during a match.
@EvWine3 жыл бұрын
@@Womfat Makes sense, I just finished my Vudoo build and haven't tried a sling with it yet either.

Hi there! Are you running a suppressor? I thought suppressors were illegal here in Canada!
@Womfat3 жыл бұрын
That muzzle device is a barrel tuner, not a suppressor. It’s the Tuna Can tuner from Reddnobb.

@@Womfat Thats awesome! does it affect the decibel level from the rifle at all?
@Womfat3 жыл бұрын
It does not affect the sound signature of the firearm whatsoever. It’s only purpose is to adjust the barrel harmonics.

Great video guys. What is that in front of his barrel, suppressor? Or is it forward blowing comp? Nice shooting guys.

What is the muzzle device you put on the Vudoo?

@@Womfat Does it really improve accuracy?

If you take the time to tune it properly, it can.

Each time you change lots of ammo, you should chrono it... Also, I know you like to leave your cleaning for a lot longer than some, but a lot of these higher-end barrels like to be clean; you might be losing velocity to "bore-gunk". Those could explain the lower impacts... Also, Check all of your scope mount and ring screws...

Was that the Apex optics Rival you were using? If so what were you thoughts on it?
@Womfat3 жыл бұрын
No, I'm running the Minox 5-25x56 LR. There was a Rival on a demo gun I checked out at the match. It has a lot of potential, I think it'll be really popular when it's released.

Why does everone swing their Kestrel on a string ?
@Womfat3 жыл бұрын
Kestrels can read ambient temperature, but will not be accurate unless air is passed over the sensor after sitting in a pocket or case. Kestrel actually recommends swinging it around for accurate temp readings.
