This makes perfect sense, I’ve been doing this exercise sitting down not thinking about rotating. Really helpful thanks

I really like the TRX suspension system for paddling fitness. At $125, it’s the most versatile system I’ve ever used. It works in a variety of body positions from standing to nearly parallel to the ground. It’s easy to adjust strength/difficulty of the exercise with body position. After warmup, it’s unbeatable for stretching the shoulders throughout the range of motion/rotation of the shoulder girdle area.

@@macfawlty great point! I used to use one a lot. Lots of rotational and anti rotational exercises you can use. Single arm rows turning the sternum into the hand a good example.

Hi Robert Norman. Would please suggest an amount of: 1. Repetitions, and 2. Sets, for all of these exercises here, to aid my on water training distance of 4 miles on flat water in a K1? Kindest regards.

I like 10-15 for strength at 3-4 sets. Lactic acid threshold for endurance more reps and sets can work depending.

What weight should be used?

Would be cool a short video with the most basic drills ON the water. Guess doing just by feeling on the water demmands a more refined technique

@LeagueofRaon the online school has those short videos you're describing about 1 minute in length. Going by feel is a good thing but becomes "the blind leading the blind" easily. Discerning what feels good without an indicator of what's truly right or wrong makes it a guessing game.
