Another excellent video! The guy that coached me when I first got into surfsking was adamant that I start thinking about pulling the blade out as soon as I started the catch. When I was out on my own practicing I felt like I was cutting my stroke short and that I had power left right at my hip. Now I bring the paddle all the way back and rotate just past my hip before I pull it out. It feels much more powerful.

I like this vid alot, your point at the beginning about blade angles is different from what I've heard before. I was always taught that neutral angle is technically the most efficient because most of the blade is oriented forward at that point, but obviously you can't keep it neutral for long.
