We paddle across Howe Sound by packraft and paddleboard to Anvil Island, hike up to the top of Leading Peak, enjoy the superb sunset, and spend a very windy night high above the Sea to Sky. For food we sip & savour charcuterie and red wine, and fuel up on french toast and bacon for brunch. This was a fun trip and left a feeling of satisfaction to pull it off in gusty conditions! Thanks to Nadine for help with video shots, and thank you for watching!

That was officially the most beautiful view of Howe Sound I've ever seen, maybe the most beautiful view I've seen anywhere I don't know, but I know I love this and I need to go there! It's so cool that you can hike up there and you don't need climbing gear because that makes it possible to have a lot more fun in my opinion.

Just came across your channel, Luke! Very impressed. This one brings back memories from a 30km SUP trip I did around Anvil at the end of last summer (the videos on my channel if you’re interested). Keep up the great work! 👊🏻

Ah Anvil island I’ve got fond memories of that place, I went to one of the summer camps on the southern part of the island as a kid, saw a bunch of deer nearby being preteens we thought it would be fun to sneak up on them as they were pretty timid and wouldn’t let ya get close,there was one Japanese kid that had the look & personality of Data from the Goonies movie no joke, he was able to get the closest to em by crawling on his stomach , good times, anyway sorry for the paragraph ,cheers from east van man.

Awesome video once again! Fun fact: Anvil Island once had a brick factory on it and one can see the ruins of it in the forest. I also have one brick that I found that has the name Anvil on it! I was eying this lil walk during covid two years ago, but never made it there. Bryan from Vancouver

Hi Luke, I just wanted to mention that just beyond where you landed, there is a No Trespassing Private Property sign. This 250 acre parcel has been private since the mid 1800’s. The only legal way to access Leading Peak is by making reservations with Daybreak Church Camp. Anyone accessing a trailhead from the north or eastern side of the island is trespassing. This notice protects the residents and hikers alike. If you see a No Trespassing sign - don’t trespass.

Is the wooden platform for tents or helicopters? What happens if a helicopter comes (if it’s a landing spot?)
@lifeofluke
@lifeofluke Жыл бұрын
Yes the platform is a helicopter landing, I assume people would have to move if a helicopter came to land.

@@lifeofluke Just fyi ( from a helicopter pilot friend ) you aren't supposed to camp on the helipads, they are used quite frequently, sometimes even at night for training... my thought is the same, if you hear a helicopter coming for a landing, you just move your stuff but just wanted to let you know what i've been told in the past.
