This is actually terrifying. For those who dont understand, this guy paddled 7.2 miles out into the ocean, and those turbines aren't place there for no reason, and they get a lot of wind action. All it takes is a storm, or even a gust of wind and he is dead. He was too far out from shore to be saved by anyone, and with how unpredictable the weather is, and how long it wouldve taken him to get back, if a storm came up, he would be dead, which is why its so dangerous. Also those turbines were off, which means a possible storm is aproaching, and not Vergil, like a full on 40-45 mph minimum type deal, and even if the winds were small, waves can get massive that deep in the ocean, and all it takes is 15 mph winds to make waves that could capsize his paddleboard, and sweep him out into sea, where he would never be found. This guy either has a lot of confidence, or he has a death wish, because doing this is suicide.

I can think of worse places to get a puncture than right next to a huge steel column with a ladder reaching down to the water. Might be an embarrassing phone call to the coastguard though 😆

No, it's around half the distance, depending which part he went to. So going back and fourth between it would add to more or less the width of the channel.
