Like the descriptions leading to the “who is this for”. It is a useful opinion from our ol’ pal Farmer Lanky.

You said you’d recommend the 12.7 C, but other paddles instead of the 14.3 TKO-C. What other paddles would you recommend over the 14.3? I fell in love immediately with the power and pop combined with feel and touch offered by the gen 3 Joola Magnus 16 mm, but I’ve got a tournament coming up and have to find an alternative since the Joola gen 3 still delisted. What do you recommend that could even come close to the gen 3 Joola Magnus 16 mm combined with the power and amazing pop it has for winning hand battles at the net. Keep in mind I’m a 4.25+ish female and am also all about control in terms of being able to keep dinks down and drops in which is why I’m hesitant to go with TKO-C 12.7

Thanks for the review Lanky! Is the 12.7 any easier to control than the PPE?

Ya, waaay easier for me to control. I prefer this easily

Thanks for review, then what would be your recommendation instead of 14mm version of this paddle?

Is the 12mm the Alshon paddle? Did the paddle you reviewed have the long handle? 5.8 inches? What is the grip circumference? Thank you. I appreciate the info and review. I’m a 5.0 contemplating changing from the 1X 14mm CRBN to the 12mm version of this paddle; or at least temporarily until CRBN comes out with their new line of power paddles.

Christian plays with both the 12.7mm and the 14.3mm, although is going to switch to only 12.7mm. The Bantam TKO-CX has a 5.75" handle. The "X" means "Extended Handle".

The explanation for the surprising TW number on the 12.7 could be perimeter weighting underneath the edgeguard. Same principle as when we apply lead/tungsten tape on top of the edgeguard to reduce twisting when the ball doesn't hit on center.

Very informative review (well most of your videos are). I just felt a bit sad since I aiming for this paddle (the 12.7) to buy but I am not that aggressive player. My play style is more on leaning to control type and I also lacks power (if I exert more strength I easily get tired), so I am looking for power paddles to compensate my lack of strength... What can you recommend? (Aside from using lead tapes to the top of the paddles) Should I go for 14.3? but as mentioned in the video it is better to get other paddles if your aiming for 14.3?

Tbh. You'll probably end up loving the 14mm. I've been recommending it to people in my area and after they try it they're hooked. If you're leaning control I'd probably get the 14mm and skip the 12mm. Spartus also has a new paddle coming out called the Olympus. It doesn't feel as poppy but it's still a power paddle and it plays crazy good.

Hey Lanky, You should review the Onix Evoke Premier Carbon Fiber 12mm. It's what Matt Wright and Lucy Kovalova play with. Also Collin Johns said it is what he thinks power paddles should be.

How would you compare this to the ALW? I know you mentioned it was more powerful with a higher swing weight. I've been playing with the ALW 12.7, and I love the control, but I miss a longer handle. Would this be a good option? My previous paddle was the 13 Mx Pro Pursuit. Thank you for the review!

Yes. I played with ALW paddle for months and love it but this is the perfect medium. Same pop but longer handle

Chris Olson swing weight was 114 for his 12.7 so yours must be much heavier than his
