My eldest lad has adhd with aspergers. My youngest son is on the autism spectrum. Two years ago I got diagnosed with autism and adhd. Borderline personality disorder. So I know how he feels. He is such a good actor.

When I saw him as Viserys Targaryen in House of the Dragon, as someone who doctors assumed I had Aspberger's (Late 90s) and I think I do - I felt that I had an instant connection with him on screen in his demeanor to the way he talks at times. Christ's Peace!!

This man has just explained, exactly how I feel at 32 😳… the super market, the eye contact, everything! I think maybe I have Asperger’s 🤷

@daniele.3361 That's an incredibly subjective view, and my autistic friends would much disagree with that assessment. So, though it is self-destructive to end up hating oneself for such a condition of life, I do plead caution. While indeed, it can sometimes enable people to pursue niche goals and activities with much more focus and interest than neurotypicals, various experiences on the autism spectrum more often than not end up inhibiting people from daily life and function, since focus is incredibly quickly lost on tasks due to sensory overload, inattention, executive dysfunction, emotional dysregulation, and other related reasons. To clarify, I'm not at all angry or upset with you as a person, I just implore caution with such sweeping statements, everyone lives life differently and we all have to work within our means from our own experiences x

@@yoshimidsuculturalresearch6078 I'm sure they're aware that some people find it to be a positive. But there are plenty of us who experience more negatives than positives. So please try to resist the urge to go "but look on the bright side!" or "yes but my autistic friends are happy with it!" as it doesn't make people feel better when it's a source of stress in their lives. I know you meant it with the best of intentions.
