Padres continue racking up the W’s…Of course they do it by scoring 9 runs in one inning. Red Sox have been playing pretty good ball. Impressive going into Fenway and holding the Red Sox to 2 runs. Nice win. Great moment for Merrill…Hitting his first home run at Fenway Park…He’s having a dream season.

I think they'll get a deal done with Merrill this offseason, something like an 8-year deal so he gets a raise but he still gets another contract. But pressure? If as a 20 year old kid you play a position like CF for the first time in MLB and you thrive at it, while batting at a high level, I don't think you can feel pressure. For whatever reason, Merrill doesn't feel normal emotions that get to other baseball players. Doesn't matter what you put on this dude's plate, he'll handle it.

HSK first and third in bWAR and fWAR on the team. Already blew past Steamer and ZiPS projections. He isn't playing great at all but the news of his downfall have been greatly exaggerated. Great to see Merrill playing so well and shout out to Manny for quietly battling through his physical limitations.

Also, Higgy right under .800 OPS. Dude may have contact issues but his slugging has been insane so far.

Sorry another thought. There were quite a few Padres fans at Fenway at last night's game, which was not the case when they last visited in 2022 and it was great to see. The fanbase has expanded tremendously pre- to post-Covid and it really does help with player performance.

Higashioka isn't as frustrating to watch as Austin Hedges. He's not the D maestro Hedges is, but with hot streaks like this, he's more entertaining. I agree that he's earned the right to be primary catcher. Interesting to see if he can keep it up

I find it crazy that Skenes only throws once every 5 days, didn’t start the season with the big league team, and he could win rookie of the year. The pirates should be punished by him not winning because he wasn’t with the team at the start
