Christians do not tattoo themselves or wear crosses, some people just do it of their own accord 7. For God to be a human he has to at least have a mother, God never married and yes Jesus is the Son of God

"I wanna make a request of the audience: to study middle and neo-Platonism and you will come to know the true origins of the trinity." Actually Father Copleston pointed to the importance neo-Platonism for Christian thought in the preface of his magnum opus "History of philosophy", I'm not saying that he agreed with trinity being a pagan creed but that he mentioned the historical importance of neo-Platonism for Christian thought in a work made basically to introduce Western philosophy to Catholic students.

In the video they agree that the middle and neo-Platonic influence on the New Testament and later Christian theology is "mainstream" (i.e. well-known) stuff. Anyone who studies the issues realizes that that, since it's plain to see...which is why Dr. Ali Ataie encouraged people to study it. Catholics have "answers" that they use in regards to pagan influence on their religion, but one has to consider these alleged "answers" in light of pure monotheism, not nominal monotheism.

Interesting piece; I haven't come across Dr. Ataie's name before, but he's clearly well-versed in the texts & contexts of ancient near eastern religions, including Christianity. I would only observe that the history of theology (*any* religion's theology) is marked by philosophico-theological syntheses of various kinds. And of course, one of the most popular and famous of these for Christianity was the (neo)Platonic synthesis: (neo)Platonism was (still is) regarded as a rich metaphysical framework for complementing and supplementing originary resources for 'doing theology.' Not to be missed amongst the patristic figures mentioned here is Augustine, who explicitly relates in Book VII of the Confessions all that he learned from the Platonists, and what he did *not* learn from the Platonists--namely, the Word made flesh (Incarnation). As he adds in Book II, 'when the Israelites left Egypt, they took their gold and silver [from idols]': in other words, 'all truth is God's truth' (Holmes). This implies an openness regarding sources of revelation, and the possibility that God might speak from any, even absurd, source. Another version of this perspective is found in fulfilment theology. The point, in this line of thinking, is that no finite narration or formulation can exhaustively fix and isolate truth in its infinite pleroma--supposing, following Plotinus, that truth (or Being) is a fountain flowing in ceaseless surplus--so that the Story must be told and re-told and re-told again, using a variety of frameworks. In fact, while 'syncretism' has a pejorative connotation, everything here below is syncretistic. Whether one turns to Bergson or Saussure, Gadamer or Taylor, human consciousness is always already historically effected--not least through linguistic forms that we inherit, and that help 'make' our world. Again, to wax Gadamerian, there are always two interpretive horizons: there's no God's-eye view (read: a view from nowhere), no (re)presentation of truth that isn't bathed in linguistic, cultural, and historical forms. In the beginning was hermeneutics, as Derrida said--and he could have said the same of syncretism: it's everywhere. The question is therefore not whether syncretism (or constructively put: synthesis, the new fusion of horizons), but where, why, and how syncretism--and how the truth may supervene or emerge in this context (and how it may be adjudicated/tested). All religions are susceptible to this question--Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and aught else. Show me a religious text; I'll show you intertexts & references, cultural allusions, local idioms and linguistic constitutions.

I am thankful for Islam clearly, firmly and impactfully stating: "There is no god but God". Only one God. No triune Godhead with related mass confusion, no idolatry, no compromise on the "oneness" of God. Pagan influences in Christianity, specifically authored by St Paul, has only distorted and destroyed most of Jesus' true message of monotheism and his role as a prophet.

The philosophical ideas there , in addition to the details in the narratives of some of the incidents there ,are not found in any other Gospel , gives it a degree of authenticity in my humble opinion. we have 3 versions of Gospel of Barnabas right now.. -the spanish version that was discovered in spain, written around 15th century - the Italian version that was discovered in Rome, written around 15th century - the turkish version, that was discovered in Turkey and was wriitten around 400-500 AD which is within the allegedly original copy of the bible. based on the info above, the 2 later version ie. the italian and spanish were obviously copies of the original texts from the turkish version.. some says that the 2 later versions were works of forgery by a monk that is familiar with islamic and christian theology. If the 2 later versions are found to be similar with the one that is on Turkey which is 1500 yrs old, then these 2 later versions are not works of a forger but written by monks that are well versed about the original copy of the gospel of barnabas, on 15th century. Another point, some believes that the 2 later versions were written by muslims that wanted to unify christianity and Islam...but this is not the case because how can a muslim knew about invent something that even the Rasulullah didn't told us about? so thank you brother for this comment.

Paganism traditionally encompasses beliefs and societal practices of pre- and non-christian cultures in and around the ancient world; including those of the greco-roman, celtic, germanic, and slavic tribes. In particular, the term pagan was and is used in a pejorative sense of infidel and heretic, as christian counterparts to goy in judaism, and kafir or mushrik in islam. Modern expressions of paganism and folklores extend the initial meaning given by early christians to similar religious traditions stretching far into prehistory. What about islam ?

Much talk has been made about Paul of Tarsus. He was a Jew born as a Roman citizen learning a tent maker's trade. He was a Pharisee schooled in Mosaic Law and a bit of a zealot. His Jewish name was Saul. Christianity was originally known as "The Way" and the followers of Jesus were not called Christians. Despite its gaining influence, many were against The Way, including Saul. He was determined to put down this new faith even if it mean death to its followers. His first mention is in the stoning of Stephen which Saul orchestrated. He was on his way to Damascus to arrest other followers when a significant event occurred which completely changed his life and the adoption of his Roman name. Any guesses?

Corinthians 13 New International Version 13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. One of writings of Paul.

Chapter Seven of Ehrman's book is titled "Mythicist Inventions: Creating the Mythical Christ" refuting much of what Ataie affirms (i.e. Dying Rising God based on Pagan Myths). In other verses say : - Both marry and Jesus (peace and blessing Upon them) used to eat food (For a man who think, this must trigger their sense that how can He/She worship human that eat food and go to toilet just like the rest of us) - Similarity of Jesus is like Adam. God Created him from dead matter i.e dust/clay easily then it was not so difficult for God to create Jesus without father. If Jesus was God because He was born without human father, then Adam must be a greater God bcz He didn't have both. But somehow Christianity didn't apply this standard to Adam.

I’m Muslim, and love all Dawah brothers and sisters but this is truly insane how the entirety of the Muslim world never deals with the fact that pretty much everything discussed in this video and beyond;especially when discussing the highly “watered down” versions of Theology in the Bible are never tied to their Sumerian origins which now that humanity has deciphered cuneiform texts they shed an astonishingly superior light on the reality of our ancient history and how humanity has been corrupted into believing in Paganish type things in the first place! Contrary to all Dawah in the media thus far, Muslims should be well aware from Quranic verses alone that our theological history starts well before 3000yrs ago, but Muslims are stuck in a perpetual loop of only debating about some stories about heretical and blasphemous individuals opinions about God or god mainly in the Bible! How can Muslims above all, be soo ignorant as to totally overlook the fact that what Jews and Christians call God, Son or Sons of God and even some Muslim names or titles for Allah Almighty have their origins in Sumerian history? Allah Almighty tells us all in the Quran in parafrase to “put right names on things”, and “go forth on the earth and see what became of those civilizations before us who some were utterly destroyed for their wickedness and the Jinn reigned on the earth before us etc etc! But somehow, incredibly Muslims never give any credence our ancient ancestral origins which was understandable before we were able to decipher cuneiform texts but now there’s no excuse other than blatant ignorance that Muslims blame other faiths or atheists for doing with Islam! 🙀🤦🏻‍♂️👎🏼/👌✌️🤲☝️😇

Who were the “gods”? The Anunakki(those who from heaven to earth came), but obviously however if these “gods” were fallible and corrupt as all evidence in Sumerian texts suggest then they are falsely playing gods or the term “god” itself doesn’t mean the One Creator where all existence came from! Finally for some idiotic reasons I’ll never understand, no so called experts in any field of science and or religious antiquity ever come together to correctly interpret what our ancestors told us! Instead we dwell on stories and here say about our ancestors recorded history thousands of years after the fact and wonder why there’s so much confusion and misunderstandings on who our Creator truly is, but thank our One and only true God for rectifying the matter for us by His advent of the Holy Quran which is available for us to learn and act on the truth to our benefit or ignore to our own detriment.👌✌️🤲☝️😇

Orthodox christian here 👋What he's saying is more or less true, but I'd like to emphasize the point that Hebrew religion was hellenized before Jesus; so it isn't exactly true to say something like "christianity is Judaism plus Greek philosophy". People in the ancient world shared ideas more than we realize. What's more, the Judaism we know today was created _after christianity,_ and as a reaction to it. And it looks like the Mosaic seeds of what would later be Judaism - as opposed to the Hebrew priest-king religion of Abraham - are telling a polemical story in the Old Testament _against_ the faith of Abraham. Hence, the importance of the deuterocanonical books; what protestants call the apocrypha, and other books. Christianity cannot be judged by the scriptural canon of Judaism; you need the context of the books the Rabbis rejected, but that the christians kept. With all the texts at hand, and with access to current archaeology, it sure looks like christianity, some strands of Greek philosophy, and ancient Hebrew religion were more alike than any of them are to Judaism of the non-hellenized variety. (For more on this, see the work of Margaret Barker.) EDIT: As far as I can tell, the main reason for rejecting some of the Pauline corpus is because some of the letters do not seem to be predicting the soon end of space-time. Instead of rejecting those letters, we should reject Albert Schweitzer's ideas; he's the man who gave us that "apocalyptic expectation" criterion. EDIT: In the old Hebrew religion, YHVH (the God of Israel) was the Son of El (the Father of all the gods). YHVH also had a human counterpart on earth in the King. This is how the christians were able to identify Jesus _as YHVH,_ which they most certainly did.

Actually quite a bit of the New Testament contain things not taught or uttered by Jesus peace be upon him. You can do your own research by Christians who are academic historians - most of the new Testament are materials from the greeks or romans. There is is a reason why the Bible texts are NOT called the Gospel according to Jesus ( peace be upon him) _ the gospels of mark, matten, luke and john are NOT written by the disciples but have the names attached to these texts because the actual authors are unknown - some parts of the New Testament are forgeries - some parts of the Bible have errors and contradictions - there is no preservation of the bible sources as the original source materials PLUS narration chains are Lost. - God does not make mistakes . But the Bible has mistakes, contradictions and forgeries. Clearly the original Gospel of Jesus has not been preserved but mixed with human mistakes and corruption. How to base your salvation on a collection of texts which have been corrupted by humans? If you look at Judaism & Islam - both teach Monoetheism. Only Christianity has the roman concept of a Triune God head.

This is a misleading discussion. Platonism is a form of rationalism, and in the case of God is seeking to answer the question of how a transcendent God interacts with the physical world. There is overlap here with the Bible because the Bible, from the time of Moses, declares the answer, that the transcendent God interacts with his creation through his word/logos and Spirit. The idea of logos does not come from Philo but Moses. Why was there no mention of Genesis 1 in this video when Genesis 1 is the origin of logos theology? This is where both Philo and John are coming from. "Paul quoted pagan authors to support his Christology" Where? No, he doesn't. Such misinformation.

@0.55 "Paul quoted pagan poets, in the New Testament, to support his Christology... in Acts 17:28, at the Areopagus..." That is a bald-faced lie. He says absolutely nothing in the Areopagite speech about Christology. It would hardly have been germane, given he was talking about the basics of monotheism to Greeks who had no idea what a Messiah even was. Even looking at the words Paul cites it's clear it's got nothing to do with Jesus: "For we are indeed his offspring" (Acts 17:28). Paul doesn't teach we're 'the offspring of Christ.' He's talking about people's relationship with God the Father (Romans 8:14-16), of whom we are 'sons.' "...And the poet Menander in 1 Corinthians 15:33" And what, pray tell, has this 'satanic' aphorism got to do with Christology: “Bad company ruins good morals”? You know, if you have to make stuff up about someone to criticize them, that's a YOU problem. @01:30 (According to St. Paul): "Christ is both the Dying and Rising Saviour Man-God..." You retard don't understand do you? here is the issue, it doesn't matter what you or who you kiss, you can kiss your doll, you can kiss your wife, you can kiss your children, you can kiss your arms and pose in front of the mirror, you can kiss whatever, it doesn't matter, but here is the issue, if the god you worship considers what you kiss to be wrong then it is wrong and that is called shirk in islam, kissing the black stone or doing hajj is allowed and Allah made it to be a cornerstone for those who believe in him, do you understand now, if someone wants to kiss those rocks or stone whatever they want with it, it doesn't matter because that is allowed in the islamic religion which have a preserved book called quran and you can actually find out what is true from false in the hadiths, but in other previous "holy" books which are presumed to be "revealed" by a god, you don't have that, so your beliefs of right and wrong might as well be nonsense, just some stories that some people said, that is why, what is in islam is pure be it scientifically or historically and that makes it the religion and not just a religion, but what you have in other books is just based on some stories that someone said so might as well be worshipping that person who told you about those stories but of course for those sharing your mindset, you don't have that problem so be it, your opinion simply doesn't matter as far as truth is concerned

Muslims also should appreciate that the Islamic rites such as salat, fasting in ramadan, pilgrimage to mecca, going round and round the kaaba, kissing the black stone, running between safa and marwa etc - these were likely arab pagan rituals that were 'ISLAMICISED.' The point is the actual rituals don't really matter, it is WHY YOU DO THEM that matters.

They're so wrong so wrong, God is one, unique, does not beget nor is he begotten. Doesn't it make sense that the one who is eternal and immortal cannot be born?? Anyways, Please read carefully, we are about to enter hardships from end of times but afterwards we will have peace in the entire world. According to my knowledge and dreams, the day of judgment is far from today but close and the coming of wars, Dajjal and Gog and Magog is near. There are too many things to say but what I can tell you is that I have been talking to God and Gabriel for 4 years. It all started when I heard a very powerful and calm voice saying "let this be a reminder to those who have been removed from the cover of my remembrance". I knew in my heart that it was Allah (God) and I could feel it through the energy of the voice. Now God calls me Isa but he already told me 2 years ago that I am really Isa but at that time I didn't believe him. Only after seeing 7 shooting stars in less than 2 weeks and especially after the last star I believed it. Each time Allah told me to look up just before the star and the last one we had an appointment at a lake where He explained to me that the body means almost nothing and that it is the soul that lives. I heard his real voice only once. He told me that I have Isa's soul and that's why he talks to me and why Jibreel is always with me. I am from East Africa so I have black skin and it is interesting because Allah told me that I would be a test for the people and I also have a big mark on my back between my shoulders, they said that it is the mark of the prophets. For the day of the last judgement, I was shown a dream of 4 or 5 huge Egyptian pillars but 10 times bigger and followed by a date 2063. For wars, I was given dreams before the antichrist and Gog and Magog, so I interpreted that the wars would come first, including nuclear war, I saw a nuclear explosion. For Dajjal(anti christ) , I was flying in a beautiful dream of Allah and suddenly I saw a dark entity enter our space and he had a crown and a big sword. In another dream I was fighting a huge monster like Godzilla and I knew it was Dajjal because he has the ability to transform. I was fighting him with the light of Allah, I could fly and I had incredible speed. For Gog and Magog, they were the worst in the corruption in the dream. The earth was dead, there was extreme drought, no water and the air smelled bad, I could not breathe. However, I was with a closed group of believers in a mountain and when I went out, they followed me but advised me against it. As soon as I went out, that's when I couldn't breathe because of the pollution. Then I saw some dark beings in the distance and I knew it was them. Then someone came and told me to go pray on a mountain to defeat the Gog and Magog, I told them we would all go together and the dream ended. I also had good dreams: I saw angels, I rode on the back of an angel in another world and I even saw two angels in real life when I was a child. At the time I didn't know they were angels, but now I know because they were in the form of human beings, but without flesh or skin, only pure light. The last thing Allah told me is that this is the end game and I believe that there are multiple mahdis or smaller mahdis that Allah also communicated with in some way. I know of two others in this case. Anyway, there is too much to share, Peace

@@SundayBeastz walking in circles, tawaff, is an ancient semitic rite, done also in almost every other major religions. It is even in the hebrew bible and mishnah sukkah 4:5. In hebrew it is know as haqqafah. In Mishnah Sukkah 4:5 , the jews would circle an alter seven times. There is an article written by Paul B. Fenton from the University of Strasbourg in France. ISLAM ADAM"..and neo-Platonism aand you will come to know the true origins of the trinity" Christians who pray to the Triune God get their prayers answered.. Therefore it cant be from a pagan origin. A pagan god does not answer prayers. Muslims have been praying for peace, and they have not achieved peace...The only way their prayers can be answerd is when they embrace the Triune God

Islam is also a syncretic or hybrid religion, i.e. the blending of two or more religious belief systems into a new system, or the incorporation into a religious tradition of beliefs from unrelated traditions. This happens often in regions where multiple religious traditions exist in proximity and interact actively, or when a culture is conquered, whereby the conquerors bring their religious beliefs with them, but failed in entirely eradicating the old beliefs or (especially) practices. The quran and islam reflect a combination and fusion of different religious traditions. In particular, the distinct historical features of zoroastrianism, such as its monotheism, messianism, judgment after death, heaven and hell, and free will have influenced Judaism, christianity and islam. “Pagan” practices are incorporated in islam, such as the kaaba and the kissing and touching of the black stone. The quran and islam are loaded with the stories, gossips, and mythical figures from the former religious traditions, such as satan making eve to eat the fruit, not eating pork, abraham’s sacrifice, lot and fire in sodom, moses raised by the daughter of the pharaoh, the story of the burning bush, the plagues in egypt and the exit of the jews, the murmurs in the desert, aaron's golden calf, including the virgin birth, and so on. Christianity and islam are definitively not an original independent religion.
