I bought the 'meteor' dial 'panda' version.....with the black sub-dial faces and it is truly one of my favorite watches, and I own several $,$$$ watches. This one is great to 'grab and go' as its quartz and its very accurate(its off by about 5 seconds every 6 months). The bracelet isnt the greatest but it works and one could get a much nicer bracelet for under $US20. I also have the '50th anniversary' version of the PD-1701(uses the same seiko quartz movement) which is SHOCKINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!! Oi....for the money spent, these 2 cant be beat!! If you are 'on the fence', JUST DO IT!!!

Great review, thanks! I already made my choice to go for the Paul Newman Daytona, but this review made me rethink that. I really like the steel bezel. They should do this bezel on the Paul Newman. That would make the perfect watch for me!

I'm enjoying mine even with the QC issues. The large second hand is a little misaligned by one click before 12. It's so close that I can ignore it. Can always get it realigned when I get the battery changed. My diver extender though won't lock, but since I'm gonna replace the clasp with another one with the copy of rolex' adjuster, it's another non issue for me. Worn it thrice in the week, and it's a blast to look at.

Congratulations. Excellent choice. Wear yours in good health. Sometimes they are very hard to deploy, or click back in; but loosen up with use. So wear a pair of gloves to protect your fingers, then try pressing it in hard with it laying on a desk. If you deploy it and click it back in a few times it might free up. Regards, #WR4K

I really like the look of this piece, the steel bezel works rather good with the black hands and subdials, they balances the shininess pretty well. Still, unfortunate that the Indices aren’t black also, but I was probably deceived by the lighting in the first pictures. You did an excellent job convincing them to produce that V2. Just a shame the won’t produce like an "Oysterflex" strap version of it. What also could add interest to that version is that "meteorite" dial, they had with the 1664, but keep those subdials of the 1727. With the Pd-1644, the ceramic bezel was glued on basically, but is that steel bezel part of the case or also in some way attached to the rest of it? That "0" is a weird issue, but not that noticeable, so I wouldn’t be bothered much, same with "Diver" on the back. Some errors are to be expected tbh and if PD improved overall, it’s a clear win in my book! Id think at this point, Pagani should consolidate their Daytona lineup. How many versions are there atm? I emailed Pagani Design the pictures you sent earlier and suggested they use a similar rubber strap on the PD-1644, and PD-1727 as it would be popular. Yes, both the ceramic, and stainless steel bezels are bonded on with adhesive. Acetone dissolves it, and they can be removed without damage. Agreed on consolidating the collection; there are numerous versions of the; PD-1664, PD-1644, and now PD-1727. Regards, #WR4K

I own three PD Daytonas, including this exact model. I purchased it for 30 pounds! Mine came with an "O", not a zero in "chronograph". But it did come with a misaligned bezel. Half a second tilted to the left. But I don't really care, no one will notice it.

My Tiffany blue 1727 arrived today. Only minor issues are the lack of glidelock clasp, lume on hands is weak, the “0”, and the sharp corners on the clasp which can be softened with a fine file. The Tiffany blue color is distinctive though I realize a color matched date wheel is beyond the price point, so this white wheel is better than a black wheel would have been.

It depends on wrist size. The PD-1727 fits and looks better on a 6-7" wrist. The PD-1701 fits and looks better on a 7-8" wrist. The PD-1676 feels and looks more top heavy on all wrist sizes. I found the PD-1701 bracelet to have sharp edges, so it wore more comfortably on a leather strap. The PD-1727 feels more balanced on the bracelet. I think this white dial version is better looking as an everyday piece. Regards, #WR4K

The one's that come on a rubber bracelet are the other #s 1644 etc. And they don't come with the white dial. Silver blue pink green meteorite but no white. Can u help me.
