Well done to everyone who attended. It was a magical Gathering where friends are made and the Gods, Spirits, and ancestors are worshipped. I miss everyone dearly already.

One ritual always hits really hard every gathering, and for this Yule it was for Odin. Which makes sense it was all goddesses afterwards and they usually have way calmer rituals.

The Sunna night ritual is by far my favorite that we have always done and continue to do every year for some Yule gatherings. Not a physical offering but still very powerful one. Was an honor to light the fire for the Ullr ritual. Seeing the community teach each other archery was awesome. Shows the togetherness we all have.

I'm fascinated with paganism and the pre-christian ways of life. I have a question: do pagans literally believe there's a god Odin who is literally real, and they worship him? Or do they approach it more like the worship of Odin is worshipping or focusing on the values/wisdom of Odin (or other deities)? Or does that just depend on who you ask?

This is great for you guys, but I'd still feel a great sense of "what the fuck are we even doing" if I attended one of these. Lol I gravitate mostly towards my small amount of Native ancestry in my personal beliefs, more than my heavier Celtic & Germanic heritage although I don't think I actually want to practice an actual religion, irregardless. I do enjoy learning all about this stuff, though.

Very lovely. Yes, I m interested in exploring this, would especially like real world gatherings, "Community". May I ask , how are men and women getting along in these Pagan communities? I notice that men and women of most, really all cultural backgrounds are not getting along very well or at all here in the USA, North America. The media presents unrealistic "dating" aspiration, college, grad school and work/career aspirations - it often breaks down to a war of the sexes. The Hollywood, Pop Music world is very unrealistic for most everyone - most of the females want to be like Taylor Swift or some Marvels Comics Universe, Star War female character that is Strong, independent, Great Bodies and they live to order sexist males around and it's the same in corporate board rooms - males hate this and drop out, become loners, bitter women haters. Women "hit the wall" and don't get married, have long term relationships, don't have children or if they have one it's a single mom sigh. So can I ask how are male and female relations doing in your Pagan gatherings.? Jaye Left sort of behind outside of Chicago
@MarytheBad
@MarytheBad 9 ай бұрын
The intent is not to date or find a partner. But some in the community have met that way. Otherwise it's very intermingled and co-ed
@chicagorhtours
@chicagorhtours 9 ай бұрын
@@MarytheBad Sounds good. I recommend studying some of the organizational, male female divisions, get together of the most successful "Christian" denominations especially the LDS Mormon Church of Latter Day Saints. LDS has lots of activities, things for people to do in regards to sports, music, home teaching, help with moving and they had a decent social welfare system "Deseret Industries" that give help social welfare in the form of "Work" for food, help with rent that sort of thing. Successful urban political organizations like the Regular Democrat Party under Mayor Daley Sr had similar organizations that worked, helped people who joined them find employment, housing, help with trash pick up etc. This isn't really about ideology, or theology it's about offering helpful services, community.
@chicagorhtours
@chicagorhtours 9 ай бұрын
@@MarytheBad But if these Pagans don't "date or find a partner" how will the Pagan communities survive, reproduce. Everyone which just be alone, community with Nature and dropping out, giving up on mainstream American society. I can understand why so many intelligent, good people do want to give up, live in a cabin alone, commune with Nature and yeah, throw up their hands in despair about mainstream American society - but isn't that throwing in the towel a sign of giving in, admitting defeat in a boxing match? I often feel like giving up on mainstream society, I do commune with nature but from a door man guarded, well heated Co-OP in Chicago not out in the wilds of say North Dakota or Wyoming.
