Page Edges Sampler

This little sample journal is for Show and Tell at my workshops and I’ve made the cover with Mamigami technic using brown paper bag that I gel printed using a foam stamp, I made from a local brick. The book is filled with a lot of gel printing scraps, using assortment of papers in the process, and then I tried to create as many different edges as I could find. #artjournal #artretreat #retreatcamp #retreat #artworkshops

Wow. Just WOW !! First, thank you Rebecca for posting the Edges Journal. I didn't just get inspiration from the variety of edges. It was also the pages themselves!! Wow, that first journal you shared in this video is probably one of the most beautiful journals I've seen in a long time. So inspiring. Do you have a video on how you created the cover. I love the style.

Thank you! I haven't done demonstration video’s before so it will be an adventure. I prefer in person workshops at my retreat! If you know how to gel print use brown paper bag (the heavy grocery paper kind) after dry carefully wad the paper first time working edges first cause heavy paper can tear. Once wadded 2 times add oil any kind I like coconut oil, some people use hand lotion! Apply oil to your hands and apply to paper. Wad more reapply oil 2-3 times, your paper will stop making noise and feel like leathery fabric! Japanese art form called Mamigami technic of kneaded paper. You can use any paper brown bag & tissue is my favorite!

Oh thank you! I'm not sure if I will ever try it but it's certainly interesting and cool looking. I love the differnt edges you made as well.
