Amazing video, the sound of a Spitfire with a RR Merlin engine was one of my first ASMR experiences. I was at an air show here in the UK and as it flew past I had the strongest tingles I've ever had, that sound still works as a trigger for me today!

Funny you should say that because I played your seashell and marble video two times in a row recently. I watched it the first time and ended up falling asleep in the recliner. I awoke long enough to start it over again. I especially liked the green marble in the shell at about 5:45.

The Blackbird was an awesome jet. But the airforce took it out of service. I was just reading about it last week. Apparently it cost $200,000 / hr. to operate! Yikes! That was a lot of USD in the 60s.

being in the military, I have always been fascinated with the c5 Galaxy, which happens to be the biggest aircraft in the military, can load jets and tanks on the bottom, with enough room for many many troops to sit up top. Unfortunately they are starting to phase out the Galaxy and only a few remain.

Alright I'm about to geek out. You don't need a calculator, simply translate 18 inches to 1.5 feet and multiply by 100. The answer is 150, and you can do it in your head, hands free, without that pesky calculator. :D Love your videos

In all seriousness though, all I can say is that the SR71 has been retired for well over a decade and Satellites are doing the job just fine, right? Due to space limitations, this is a two part response. The Blackbird was retired in 1990 but brought back four years later because satellites could not do the job well enough to satisfy the military's need for real time data, but finally put out to pasture in 98.

Ps The Wallabies are the national rugby team of Australia. Australians like to nickname their sports teams - so their soccer team are the socceroos, and the netball team are the diamonds. New Zealand does the same - All Blacks, All Whites and the silver ferns respectively.

Angelo Busato very much correct, the plane used in Cast Away wasn't even Boeing, it was an Airbus A300. I think he messed his wording a bit, as I think his main idea was aimed towards the FedEx livalry.

Inquiring minds do ask this question though: If satellites couldn't do the job then, why can they now? Or, is something else doing the job, something more modern than the antiquated Blackbirds, but more "real-time" than satellites? I can't answer that.
