I have this feeling she has so many other people with her specifically to help with mom. Like holy crap I'd have done that too. Edit: I had a relative like this. Not pageant but 'you luke's and 'you don't like' but they couldn't have told you a single thing about what I liked or didn't like in reality and it was a lot to work through back in the day. My heart goes out to her. A little worried that when she talks about having things in common "We're both really mature" like sweetheart. The more mature you are the less you think you are and vice versa. It's one of those things like wisdom. More you think you have of it the less you have. That mom though. I hope the marriage worked out and they live a good life. That mom though. She's a just no, though her daughter clearly also loves her and at least wants her approval somewhat even if she doesn't trust her not to bulldoze and project and think about herself over her daughter. Homeboy knew what he was doing. That second dress was closer to the one she ended up choosing for herself. Mom wasn't even close. She was picking a white version of the same ol pageant dresses she picked for years. You could almost taste the similarity from the wedding dress she picked vs the old picture with the bride in a pageant dress. Like holy hell. Just no. That woman is so deep she can't even see her daughter in front of her. Just an image she projects. Heart goes out to the bride. That's... Really difficult to deal with. It's really messed up and it messes you up.

What I've learned from watching this show is that it's the veil that really makes a dress a wedding dress. So many entourages are iffy on a dress, then they see it with a veil and voila! Now it's suddenly perfect.

We said similar things when I was a cheerleader in high school. We’d say “smile, sparkle, shine”. It’s meant to encourage you to smile and exude energy. I’m sure it’s a similar idea for pageant girls! :) but yeah, it’s a wedding, not a pageant.
