Last year Rbonney’s win was marred by everyone saying miss usa was rigged so she could win. Demi leigh a few years back they accused of racism as she wore gloves when visiting HIV children. Controversy brings attention and miss australia cant help who her parents are.

When I saw Sheynnis in the Miss Nicaragua pageant, I thought to myself "she's going to be the next Miss Universe", because she is so captivating and articulate. If she did as well in her personal interview as I think she did, the crown will be hers. I haven't felt that strongly about a candidate since I saw Iris Mittineare in the Miss France pageant and I knew then that she would win Miss Universe too. I would be very happy to see Jane from Nepal win as well as I could see her take the roll of Miss Universe in a new direction.

I actually had more expectations for Thailand. She performed well but lacked the energy from her national win. Also her evening gown looked a bit too tight on her, which I felt affected her walk. She’s still top 5 for me, but I hope she brings more energy in the final.

My biggest surprises were Portugal, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Pakistan and the ones I was disappointed the most in were Spain and but but especially France. She was my top 2 before the prelims, now I think she won’t even qualify. In my Top 5 are South Africa, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Nicaragua and India, the latter two wowing me the most.

Based on those same arguments, one could have placed Mexico, Peru, and the Dominican Republic, even lower and get those spots to the other Latinas you spotted (Ecuador, Panama, or Guatemala). Even getting Australia and South Africa an upper spot. But hey, your analysis seems to me right on point. Thanks for sharing it. Agree with France. How are you? A few things. Your numbers are getting better and better. As one of your founding subscribers every time I see the increase, please know I celebrate with you - now almost 20,000 people know the gem that is The Pageant Nerd! I have spent the past few weeks engrossed in the dailies looking at the contestants and viewing the content. I had my favorites but boy oh boy did the preliminary competition surprise me in a good and bad way. Pakistan, Lebanon, Costa Rica? Where did these queens come from? Their beauty kind of knocked me on my behind. They all made my top list. Still not being an expert and STILL leading with my emotions I have a top 24. I tried for 2 days to cut it to 20 and I can't do it. So top 24 so be it. I am such an emotional fan. Venezuela and Colombia shocked me to the core. I knew they were there, and I knew they would place but those gowns! THOSE GOWNS! Colombia in her dress looked like a diamond. Venezuela with all that EXTRA carried it like she didn't have a care in the world. They both surprised me, and I would not be surprised for top 5 for both. Cameroon - where did SHE come from? I mean she was stunning! The dress was ok but still that FACE and that confidence! Miss Nepal with the crowd cheering her on dressed her body to maximum effect snatching that waist and showing the beauty of a true hourglass figure. Stunning and I am confident as I can be for her placement. Happy to see our countries doing well Miss Australia and Miss USA. My only hope for Miss USA is that she gets away from the Sherry Hill gowns (I would bet you a tidy sum that her gown was Sherry Hill) but R'Bonney won in Ryan Fernandez and I just wish Miss USA had more time or the funds for a truly international designed gown. I still have hopes for her. Ok I have gone on too long. Cannot WAIT for your final predictions and still after all this time my heart belongs to Michelle Dee. Loved everything about her season here. And how about Miss El Salvador? Love her - it's like she has hosted a two-week party for 84 contestants and has been polished and poised the entire time. She is on my list. Based on communication skills, preliminary performance, Voice for Change Award, Spirit of the Carnival Award; Miss Philippines is still my number 1. Nicaragua, based on her beautiful face and almost perfect preliminary performance is my number 2 rumors have it that her communication skills is so-so. Miss Puerto Rico is my number 3, as she is excellent during the prelims and good com skills, Number 4 is India and Number 5 is Thailand. Miss Dominican Republic forgot where to go? Miss Mexico was lacking energy? Miss Jamaica was angry and needs to enjoy the moment more. Miss Bahrain should be sent to MGI, Miss Chile I love her gown but she needs professional training. Miss El Salvador has been doing great! Miss Portugal and Miss Honduras also did very well! ❤❤❤

Im from australia and we did amazing! I like nepal she has x factor, venezuela owned the runway, nicaragua was just so gorge. I also liked brazil. Puerto Rico slayed. I like india as shes OTT and extra. Pakistan was just gorge! I was dissapointed with france and dominican republic. They had no presence in the prelims. Same applies to thailand. But its all about interview! Its all good to shine on stage but if your communications skills are terrible….bye felicia

Jamaica was poised beautiful and refreshing to watch. She however needs to relax her facial expressions on stage. Was way too serious looking. I thought because she slipped in evening gown just after being introduced threw her off but the same thing happened in swimsuit. She hardly smiled. Seems typical of Jamaica's representatives yearly. 2010 yendy being the exception. Lets hope her interview went well and she advances to top 20. Best of luck.

I have coached nationally and internationally for over 30 years… with girls that has graced this and other international stages….and I am scratching my head on some things and agree with others… You top five is good… USA should be there but but I get your choice…. South Africa could not even win her national pageant… and should not be in ten more less the twenty…however her beauty is flawless… Philippines was awesome in gown.. her modeling was sloppy in Swim and did not have her angles down pat… however,, gorgeous face and great speaker and personality… Portugal, Canada and Russia should be higher…and you are totally correct on France….
