I am happy that Guido has stayed in PH before we got married, and he’d been in Asian culture for almost 10 years when he served in VN field when he was in France, therefore he is conscious on what he says. For me, I have always called my inlaws Pa and Ma ever since hihi. And they even called my parents Tatay and Mame 😂

Important talaga sa interracial relationships that you understand and respect each other’s differences. One is not better or worse than the other. One major reason why family support does not exist dito sa Holland is because this is a first world country and the government has good social security system that financially helps everybody. So government ang tutulong sa iyo, your family members do not have to. Sa atin sa pilipinas syempre for obvious reasons tumutulong tayo sa magulang or kamag anak. Naging part na ng kultura natin yon. Good vlog sis! 😊

Thank you for this very informative video regarding the difference between Filipino and Dutch Cultures. You presented it well with much respect and positivity. I am discerning now to be a Catholic missionary pastor in the Netherlands. I have a Dutch priest-friend who is always supporting me in my seminary formation and I told him that I am willing to serve the Church their the Netherlands. He informed me that there is a Filipino Catholic Community in his parish and they have Masses also for Filipinos in Tagalog. He just reminded me that I must be ready because Dutch people speak directly- straight forward as you said. And also I need to learn to speak Dutch. Please pray for me that the will of God may manifest in my discernment. Thank you so much. God bless your family.

Ung host family ko naman mdyo sila ung nag adjust sa mga aupair nila (pang 3 na kasi ako), di sila ganun ka straightforward mag salita kasi ayaw nila ma’hurt ung mga aupair nila kasi nag study din sila ng culture natin... hehe

Ang "politeness" ng mga Pilipino ay "fake" kasi hindi sanay ang mga Pilipino na maging totoo sa sarili nila, at mas inuuna muna ang damdamin o sasabihin ng IBANG tao. Kaya kahit hindi mo talaga gustong kumain ng putahe, pero dahil mas inuuna ang feelings ng nag-offer ng pagkain, kaya kahit hindi mo gusto eh PIPILITIN mo ang sarili mo na kumain. Pagiging "fake" o sinungaling ito, hindi pa actually "politeness". Kasi pwede ka namang maging polite na magsabi ka na "Thank you, but I'm not hungry." Ito ang pagiging polite na TOTOO at NAGPAPAKATOTOO sa sarili. Pero maraming Pilipino ang andun pa rin sa isinasakripisyo ang sarili, ang katotohanan nila para sa kaligayahan o convenience ng IBANG tao.

Things I noticed when i came here in The Netherland. Majority of dutch is cool, straight forward & “mind ur own business” type, “ its ur decision bcos ur not a kid anymore”. Important agenda like going to dentist en ziekenhuis (hospital) is a must , or else you have to pay fines or “boete”. Majority of dutch is really responsible when it comes in driving rules if not then krigjt jij boete .( u recieve fine). Majority of dutch can say whatever they want since they are free to say their opinion. Dutch like to complain alot “klagen” but for them its normal form for being a dutch. When they have birthday party,its simple give a hands and greet the whole family and say gefeceliteerd! Don’t forget to sit in a round form table where chairs too

I remember when I gave birth to my first born it was in Pinas, so syempre automatic yan magkatabi ang Mommy and si baby, my husband was like, are you not going to put the baby on her crib? And I strongly said NO itatabi ko tong anak ko noh! Dahil again sa culture nila dito na separate ang bata, but my husband respected my decision kasi kultura natin na magkakatabi tayong natutulog. Back in Dubai we shared our bed with the kids, ngayon lang sila hiwalay na sa amin when we moved here last year.. BUT in the middle of the night, kapag nagising sila, they’ll transfer to our room 😂
