We hope you enjoy our family trip to Pago from when we went over to celebrate Joe's baby brother's 40th birthday. When Joe was little and lived in Pago, his mom had a baby boy, James, who passed away at birth. He is buried in Pago and we went to visit for his birthday! We are SO excited to share this vlog with you today for a couple of reasons. One, because so many of you have asked when we would be going back to Pago Pago, American Samoa, and two, because we thought this footage was lost forever. We had a hard drive become corrupted and we tried so many different things to try to retrieve the data and nothing worked, until Datalab NZ managed to recover the data for us!!

You definitely need to get a drone to appreciate all the beauty Samoa has to offer! A mavic Mini is a pretty affordable way to start with drone flying and doesn't require any permitting. But it struggles in high wind, so you'd want to be careful if you get one because Samoa is full of high wind! But yup, you live in a beautiful place!

Love watching your videos. Brings back memories. I lived in American Samoa from 1992 to 1999. No, wasn’t their on some government contract. Long story how I ended up there. Met my Samoan wife there, she’s from Samoa like your mom, her family lives in Fagali’i across from the airport. We moved from Samoa to the state of Washington in 2000. After 22 years and 3 grown children, one who was born in Samoa, we are going back, December 2022 for 3 weeks via Fiji Airlines. Hope we can fly to Pago so I can show my kids where I lived, like Ottoville, wife saids no way🙄 Wish I could have met you there when I was there…

We went to Melbourne for a week and the apartments we got was so disgusting that I had to get cleaning products, I couldn’t let my mother or my own kids touch anything. Took the guy to court, we got most of our money back, nearly $5,000. It’s so deceiving when you see the place online. Sucks when you have to travel and be disappointed with your Air BNB😔 I hope you guys had fun In Pagopago despite the home stay😊

You are right Usomex! It was terrible. And the absolute worst part is that we had to buy plates and utensils and soap and garbage bags and two fans. There wasn’t a garbage to put the garbage bags in so we put them all in the kitchen. And the lady left me a negative review for leaving trash in the house. I was like, “it was all bagged up!!!” Still upset about that place, lol! Thanks for the love for my baby bro! We all miss him.
