Quite honestly, it looks like half the issues Paige was having were control issues caused by using a controller. Firaxis games were just never meant to be played with a controller.

Completely disagree. Mouse is way to sensitive for grid based games. Controller is definitely worth the slightly cumbersome soldier/ability selection.

I played both my successful iron man veteran campaigns using a controller. It's actually an intuitive control scheme.
