It has a very subtle purple iridescent layer, but I checked in Photoshop and the base color is literally 100% blue and 0% red. It's right on the line where cyan turns fully into blue, the furthest blue can possibly get from purple.

My management team has been cutting corners for two years. They go around the store gathering up loose items throw it in a cart. Instead of doing what they’re supposed to do and take it up to the front to drop off the food, clothes and electronics and stolen things. They take it to the other end of the store where my area get our carts if things to take back out to the floor and dump everything there. Dairy and meat has been buried under things. The store manager does it too so i can’t even bring it up to him.

I dont care. I really give a fiddlers frock about his character. Howard Phillips Lovecraft is the most protean genius in 20th century literature, not only for his own work but for his influence. As a Puerto Rican he wouldn't have pissed in my ear if my brains were on fire. He transports me to worlds out side of this one. EVERY author- HPL, King, Campbell, any writer of popular fiction, is our whore for a nights pleasure. If you give a damn about any more than getting tour money's worth, well, you deserve to. Eat up

Lovecraft's racism is impossible to ignore in his literature, but there were a lot more influences on his stories than just the racism. While the Deep One hybrids are pretty naturally an allegory for race-mixing, part of the inspiration is also thought to have come from Lovecraft's family history of mental illness and the irrational fear that he was fated to waste away in a mental hospital like both his parents. He also based one of his best known stories, "The Shadow out of Time," on a nervous breakdown he suffered in his twenties, feeling for an extended period like he was a complete stranger in his own body. Also, spoiler for "Shadow Over Innsmouth," but the story is unique among Lovecraft's fiction in that it doesn't end abruptly with the horror twist that the narrator's a Deep One hybrid. After the reveal, he actually comes to terms with it as part of his identity, and he makes the decision to join his ancestors in R'lyeh instead of shooting himself like one of his relatives did. It's a weirdly accepting ending to the story that can be interpreted as challenging the idea that Lovecraft was all racist all the time.

Working at Walmart for eight months wasn't so bad, most of my coworkers weren't awful, the work was manageable, and getting paid every two weeks was solid. It was my first 'real' job, so I didn't know any better. The customers were always the worst part, my section was chemicals, pet food, paper goods, and like pre-packaged foods, stuff like crackers, juice, chips, etc. Customers asking you to stop whatever you're doing, either actually helping them find said product or guessing or sending them off to another employee, is awful, because your team lead or manager or whatever said, get this aisle done, then the next aisle. Beyond the on floor stuff, my section was also tasked with most of the backrooms stuff, offloading pallets, checking inventory, getting rid of expired/tampered with items, etc. Working in a shipping container is really scary, especially in the morning, it's dark, and cold. There was one time, some dude rode past on a bicycle looking in and it was daytime, but me and only one other employee was out there, so yeah that was scary. Beyond customers, the worst part was, my section was always being called to help other sections, namely home & garden, toys, auto, art supplies/party, and the most egregious of all, the personal shoppers for online orders. My section, without fail, would get called for personal shoppers, and some days I was left solo on the floor, either my boss or another veteran employee were working on another project. And in the whole time I was there, there was almost no new hires, people would sometimes drop in from another section, but that's about it, and 2 people quit, understandable, one guy was going to the military and the other was like our golden guy, which was shocking why he quit. Another was fired for being a dipshit/creep, he was late, he talked back, he talked too much to customers/other employees, and I felt uncomfortable around him, and I'm a guy. In fact, the dipshit made several ridiculous ass jokes, one was about kidnapping kids, which our golden guy got pissed about that, he was thinking about meeting him in the parking lot, and probably one of the reasons why he quit. Another joke was, it was Halloween or some other holiday right? And some kids have face paint on, at quitting time he made some joke that a kid looked like a streetwalker/prostitute, are you serious? The last person that quit got her old job back as a teacher, so understandable. So yeah, a section, without new hires, and barely any new people transferring in, like three people transferred, but again nobody wants to work mornings and lifting heavy objects, so only one person stayed, but that person was a personal shopper, so guess what, they got called back all the time, and the managers/bosses expecting us to get an aisle done every 30 minutes per 2 hours is ridiculous. But yeah, I felt bad for the cashiers/baggers because they didn't get to move around as much and if we mess up, either misplacing things or something else because then the customer gets confused, thought it was y'know 30 cents instead of a dollar fifty, then they get yelled at, and cashiers have to deal with way more customers versus our section which primarily worked at the back of the store, and yes, all our sections we needed to cover were near the back of the store as well so we didn't have to deal with customers much.

Found this again now that it's 5 years old and yup. I now have a year and a half of retail experience at a Walmart and fuuuuck. Luckily I was nightshift so I only had to deal with customers at the first and last hour of my shift since we close. Still had to deal with incompetent coworkers though. Quit cause they kept putting me in an area with the 2 dumbest people I've ever met in my life and made everything so difficult every day. I think like 5 other people were quitting around the time I put in my 2 weeks. I can't imagine being the introverted shut-in I am having to deal with customers all day as well. If you don't think humanity was a mistake before you start working retail, you will eventually.
