I have made this in a viscose. I did not use the facing did bias bindings. Love it. Your fabric is gorgeous.

Great idea to do bias binding, how did you find it? Xx
@lorrainewhiting12674 жыл бұрын
Paige Joanna I do not like doing facings, the binding worked perfectly and a nice finish to neckline x

Thanks for the sew-a-long. I’m going to (try) to make it (I’m a beginner) is a Freda Kahlo print 🙂

I am currently stalking this pattern and sewing vloggers sewalongs as it's definitely on the wish list for making it. Your version is gorgeous, think you made the right decision re the pockets and it's something I'll think about now when selecting my fabric for this as I really would like the pockets so thank you for that tip. xx

I love the print and fabric. I have made the Lotta, my first Tilly and the buttons pattern. I am tempted to make another as they are straight to make. I made mine in Viscose animal print fabric.

Hi. I just now subscribed to your channel and enjoyed watching your vlog on the Lotta dress. The dress turned out beautifully; pattern seems to be very easy for beginners like me, and I really loved your choice of fabric with all those pretty colors/floral print. Now, although the colors and print look lovely on you, I felt that the style/cut of the dress itself seemed to swallow you up so that you almost disappeared--other than that, it is a cute dress, and so are you. Looking forward to watching more of your vlogs.

Great idea, I usually make a toile as well but I trust Tilly’s patterns so much I sort of know them well enough now to just make them but always a good idea to test and make a wearable toile if you can xxxx

Where did you get interfacing from Amazon, can you link it on to your video. Am try to find interfacing from Amazon,
@laurafinch43084 жыл бұрын
Highlight of my week seeing your videos. Do you always buy fabric from known sellers, I’ve been going to Walthamstow market and have got some absolute bargains but there’s not much variety e.g. getting double gauze etc, maybe I’m not looking properly xx. Gorgeous fabric 😍
@paigejoannaa4 жыл бұрын
That’s so sweet of you thanks so much for tuning in and watching them 💖 I do try thrift fabrics in Ebay, charity shops and occasional fabric shops but since Covid I haven’t been to any markets/shops sadly! Ebay is great though xxxx

The fabric is gorgeous! I am a beginner sewer- do you think this is doable for a beginner?
@paigejoannaa4 жыл бұрын
This fabric and pattern are both great for beginners. Any cotton or woven fabric with low stretch is great for beginners and any of Tilly buttons patterns with the beginner label on it is perfect xxx check out my recent blog post www.paigejoanna.co.uk as I wrote an entire post about this xxx

Would you say there's a big difference between this one and the Indigo? Trying to decide if I need the pattern.
@paigejoannaa4 жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely! The indigo has darts on the busy, gathered skirt and sewn in sleeves. Whereas this one you don’t have to gather the skirt at all, it has a waist channel and the skirt is more of a swishy, Slayer style whereas indigo is a straight skirt more of a smock shape xx

Only just found you . I will look out for more . My question . I have trouble with neck lines often being too low . I couldn’t see yours very well because your hair was covering it . Is it low round the neck ?
