It was a lack of quality players, Sam, we have more depth in our squad than almost anyone. Think of all those who weren’t in the squad, Maddison, Maguire, James, White, Phillips, Pope, Rashford, Grealish, Mount, Sterling, Sancho. That’s a solid international team on the sidelines. The problem was tactics, mentality and shape. Which is on the players who were picked but most importantly the manager.

'U can't win big cups with 34% possession' - you have the best English players here, mostly earning 100k a week+, yet they do not appear to have the technical ability to hold onto the ball, pass the ball in a way that moves the play towards the opponent as opposed to backwards or sideways. When Saka got the ball he would not run down the wing and put a cross in , Stones ran out of defence and opened up the Spanish, but he did it once and never did that in the other games, Bellingham kept going down any time he lost the ball when he should have been chasing the player who robbed him, Rice refused to move the ball forward - the whole back four and most of the midfield players took at least 1-2 seconds extra to decide on the pass - the whole way of playing needs updating, I think it can be done, but to keep 'falling' into finals and semi finals means nothing if this is the end product...

Get Klopp or Pep or Jose or Carlo. We need a serial winner boss to turn silver into gold. I was there in 1990 & 96. This is much better than a semi loss on pens. We lost cuz we failed to sub on Trent. The only great long ball passer 3 🦁 have. Kobbie played poorly & Kane was brave but his injured back held him back. Guehi caused the 2nd spain goal via a bad long ball turnover & pickfords saves were very good but his passing long balls were poor. U can't win big cups with 34% possession. U need at least 40%.

Sadly he's right. We don't actually have an EPL, we have a Premiere League played in England with teams full of foreign players, managed by foreigners and played at clubs owned by foreigners. But apart from that it's English. Southgate has already suggested he may have to start looking in the Championship.

There fixed it for you To put it in simple terms The England football team has always been not great who cannot beat top teams like Brazil, France when it comes major tournaments such as the world cup and the euros England have been jinxing these tournaments for a long time now, why is that when it comes to a major tournament final they panic, sit back and lose against teams such as Italy, Spain but when it comes to a regular match against Spain they had Spain beaten. To tell you the truth England should have won the 2020 Euros by attacking Italy head on for a 2-1 or a 3-2 final score instead of sitting back, panicking with the lame 1-1 draw throughout the entire match which cost them to lose on penalties

I was not surprised at the result last night as yet again we put out a defensive team and as a direct result fell behind again. It would be better to win the game first with your best players and then go defensive only IF required. The only half decent game was against the Dutch and even in that game we fell behind and got through by the skin of our teeth.

He has the same level of success as any other. Thats the problem: people thinking semi-final or final is success. Its not. Theres two categories in football: 1 winner, everyone else is a loser. Being slightly less of a loser is not success.

Technically Southgate is the most successful since '66 since he's taken us to two finals and a semi. Getting to a final or semi final is a more successful campaign than getting knocked out in the group phase.

Ask big Sam would he of rotated the squad more, like barely any of the subs even got a sniff if this tournament. Southgate just used same squad pretty much all the way threw, he could of rested some and used different teams so opponents couldn't read us so easy, like every team knew who they would be up against and how our same team play together. With one change if we were lucky.

We rode our luck and it run out ..If we won Southgate should have stayed for World Cup but now seems right time to go Im not an expert but even I could see Saka Mainoo Kane even Jude all needed subbing off at half time ..legs had gone on all of them Too slow to react ,lacks faith in the new players they have to earn his trust but hard when he dont play you longer than 10 minutes
