I know this was two years ago, but appreciate the share! Can you not just run the HDMI directly into the tv monitor? Or you have to channel it into the capture card because you’re running the OBS software on a different computer/pc? Thanks!
@BradfordRedpath3 ай бұрын
@@briananderson1570I have one PC that does nothing else but run Zwift (and Sauce). The other PC is the one that streams and does everything else that is going on (Discord chat, KZbin chat, game audio, the stream audio, all of the overlays and screen changes you see on screen, etc…) The capture card connects the two together.

What a setup holy hell, love it. Sorry to clarify on the 'capture card' -> so that will just take the desktop (output) from that back pc and it in essence has no idea it's outputting to the capture card, just thinkg it's a monitor or something? If so, is it OBS that is 'detecting' the capture card or is there an intermediary piece of software which is rendering the zwift screen? Sorry I thought that question would be simple but came across as a dogs breakfast across a youtube comment, I hope this made sense.

Hey man reach out any time, happy to go over it. Yes you are exactly right as you describe it. The back computer simply outputs the signal using an HDMI cable coming right out of the video card. That HDMI cable connects to the capture card on my streaming PC. OBS then automatically picks up the capture card as an option (in the same way that it would pick up a webcam or anything else) and you can then broadcast as normal.

Nice setup. The question I have is how do you interact with the game when you have OBS running on top? If I run Zwift on top of OBS, the recording is stuttered and freezes for seconds at a time. If I run OBS on top of Zwift the recording is smooth, but I can't interact with the game. I can't click on anything or type a message in chat. To do anything like that, I have to Alt-Tab over to the game, do what I want and then Alt-Tab back, which causes the recording to stutter until I put OBS back on top.

Might be hard to troubleshoot via a KZbin Comment, but it looks like we have slightly different setups. Recall that in my case I have a separate PC running Zwift and then am bringing that signal into OBS so in my case to interact with the game I just use the keyboard associated with the PC that’s running the game. What a lot of guys do is use the companion app on their phones to interact with the game (the companion app allows you to do common tasks like activate a powerup or use the in-game chat). This would eliminate the need for you to be leaving OBS while your recording is active.

Hi, what model bike is it and how many gears. Now trying to find a bike mainly to use on zwift myself.
@BradfordRedpath2 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris, it’s a 2019 Trek Domane SL5. I have the base options so my group set is Shimano 105 and it’s 11 speed. This is perfectly fine for me in Zwift. You can always extend the length of your Gears by lowering Trainer Difficulty in Zwift so I haven’t found having many gears overly important.
@chrisbarker53362 жыл бұрын
@@BradfordRedpath awesome thanks for the reply, that helps because there isn't many options for a bike with 11 speed under £1500 👍

thanks for sharing Bradford. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind sharing. how do you get your stream deck to control the fan? if you weren't going to stream but were just wanting to use the sauce add on (I am assuming that's what you are using), would you need two PC's to run it? thanks
@BradfordRedpath2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Ryan! My fan is plugged in to the wall with one those little Wi-Fi Plugs. I can then use Alexa to turn on and off the fan or I use my stream deck (using a free app/website called Voice Monkey). Sauce does not require two PCs at all. I run Sauce and Zwift on the same computer and I regularly do as you say (Using Sauce while going for simple rides where I am not streaming).

Hi there! Just came across this video. Impressive setup. Do you experience in game lag watching your game in OBS?
@BradfordRedpathАй бұрын
@@VeloViking hi there! No there’s no lag since the capture card that connects Zwift to my Streaming PC has zero latency pass through.
