The whole album is a follow up to the Perfect element concept. The main character wake up in 2007 from a 10 years coma and reacts to what America has become to him. I think that song was more about 50 cents type of hip hop.

It is pretty much a song about 'rappers' like Kanye West, obsessed with their own fame, repeating their own name, flashing their bling around. Check out other songs from the same album. E. G. Cribcaged, Kingdom of Loss and America.

this is in no way a song about ye, in 2006 he was the most cutting edge and subversive rap artist in the mainstream who opposed the stereotypes represented in 'spitfall'. maybe later he became what they talked about

This album is basically a guy watching TV and the songs criticize modern society. This song is more a criticism of the hip hop culture pertaining consumer culture, materialism, conformity, sexism, etc. So, yeah, I’m sure that there are parts that are out of touch, but don’t see as criticism of hip hop itself.
