I used to nocebo myself quite a lot. I’d worry so much about the outcome of certain situations that it became a negative self fulfilling prophecy. A while back in one of your videos you talked about viewing challenging situations as an opportunity not an obstacle. A time to prove that there’s no danger and even if symptoms do arise it doesn’t matter you’re still teaching your brain that everything is ok by doing the challenging thing anyway. This approach has really helped me shift my mindset and produce positive results. Thanks Dan

Exactly what I needed to hear. I started back to work today (I’m a teacher so I’ve been off for the summer) and had all kinds of symptoms that have been gone for a long time return. I immediately related it to being back at work. I see now I am “noceboing” myself with that belief. Tomorrow I will make an effort to have positive expectations for the day! Thank you!

Wow really good! Its truth we just need to utilize it. My therapist here told me a long time ago that i could think a malady into existence: it makes total logic

Great explanation of something I absolutely know yet I’m not sure I’m truly consistent with those positive expectationsthe best possible outcome is something that feels great yet it’s not my normal default reaction I’m still learning to make it a conscious response through practice… I believe this is core to believing that you are already well -the mind shift is where it has truly started for me… it’s not consistent reading or learning once you “get it” you have to do it!

Another jewel Dan, thank you so very much for this. Dan, could you please try to explain the difference between the Reticular Activating System and Predictive Coding, maybe in a video. I often tend to get confused between the two and believe that the clarity could benefit all. xoxoxo Shveta😇😇😇

Hi Dan. I have been following your videos for several months. I have TMS symptoms that have disappeared or improved thanks to your videos. But here I am for a few weeks with a new symptom: seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp and especially the eyebrows (precipitating their fall)I never had skin problems before. I wonder if seborrheic dermatitis might be another TMS symptom. Have you heard of success stories about this pathology? thank you😊

I am very aware of nocebo Dan. Good topic. If you can recall. I wake each day with migraine. I’m getting success with mind body. More than I was thanks to your videos. I fell over in the garden. Friday. I’m not injured. But my body is hurting. But I’m up and about and moving as best I can. Like you say. I just go for it. It will ease as the day goes on.

So the brain also listens to our negative expectations, as well as the subconscious brains negative expectations, that's where the day dreaming a good story, and out come can help then, this vidio was educational, as well as informative, another area that needs retaining, lots to do and learn 🤗

🙀🙌🦄🌞 wow this has got to be one of my absolute favorite videos Dan! You talk about things like this often but for some reason today it really hit home , because totally how can we hope for a better day of symptoms if we are expecting the opposite -predictive coding really is just another word of nocebo/placebo isnt it?!

Needed to hear. Today my mood low and then up a bit, is this TMS? Broken sleep due to allergies (I think lol) mouth so dry and I'm having to drink water. Not much energy and frustration of not being able to do what I want. Taste buds still out of kilter, so food tastes mostly yuk. Am making myself eat, I need the weight on. Tomorrow another day but I'll start now, I'm a survivor. Thanks for the video, appreciated.

Dan, how do you handle stubborn pain flares? I can usually get out of pain in a day or two but this time around it’s being stubborn, going on 10 days now.
