I have been on my TMS journey for a year now. Since I know that my body is not the problem I am happier than ever. I dare say that I have now elevated indifference to an art form. I've gotten really good at it. In addition, I do what I feel like every day. I am in control of my life. Every day. But… despite all this I still have pain every day. It's much better than ever, but the pain isn't gone. While I don't pay attention to it. That frustrates me and makes me sad. I'm doing so well. Why is it still not gone? I am convinced that I am on the right path. I will never leave this road again. I think after more than 25 years of pain I need more time. I became a world champion in staring at my symptoms with fear. That's definitely over. I have patience and courage. Thanks for all the videos Dan. I can't tell you how enormously valuable they are to me. I hope to be a success story someday.

This morning I managed to drive up the road, park up and go into the shop and buy a baguette. Shopkeeper said long time no see lol drove back home, parked up, windows open and coughing fit ensued, ran out of water and panic started as airways felt irritated. Tried calming for five minutes but then had to leave my car & go in my house for water. Started beating myself up for leaving the situation. Calmed myself down had a drink and now having a talk to myself, congratulating myself for the task I DID complete. Great video

Yes, I feel this. Desperately trying regain what was lost. And the frustration/rage of not being able to causes symptoms. So what's the answer? Let things go? Accept we cannot achieve perfection?

@@CaptainInsano20 for me learning to let go is essential to recover ! If there is still pain, it just means the body is catching up with the emotional chAnge,
@PainFreeYou2 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, the body isn't doing anything. Pain always comes from the brain. The brain decides if pain is required based on it's perception of danger.

I recently bought a book called Back Mechanic by Stuart McGill - he is the leading physician on back pain and I’ve found some use from his methods and concepts Are we saying that he’s incorrect in his practices ?
@PainFreeYou2 жыл бұрын
If you have done the assessments and YOUR pain behaves like TMS/Mindbody pain, then a TMS approach is the correct approach. If the assessments indicate you have a body problem, then perhaps his approach can help. What do the TMS assessments say? The pain test score? YourPainTest.com

Dan, would you say that symptoms caused from stress leave lasting damage? I’m talking about gut issues. Thanks 🙏🏻
@PainFreeYou Жыл бұрын
No, I don't believe so. Being in the stress response suppresses the digestive system which can allow symptoms to occur. Getting out of that stress response more often with more self care and KNOWING that your body is not broken will allow that suppression of the digestive system to lift and the body can return to balance. You can do this.

Not trying to split hairs but Sarno called it the unconscious not subconscious. I think everyone should get on the same page. Subconscious I think is used for like hypnosis to quit smoking or something similar
@Inge5082 жыл бұрын
The subconscious mind is most commonly referred too as the nonconscious mind .. ( google).. So I think unconscious is the same.. What’s in a name ? Isn’t the most important that we know that the brain process acts outside of our consciousness ?

Same thing
@NicoleFitnessYouTube2 жыл бұрын
@@Inge508 exactly. The particular definition of subconscious vs unconscious isn’t vital to recovery. Just as Dan repeatedly speaks about not needing to use words like ‘retraining the amygdala’. It’s very simple - the brain is perceiving danger and we need to communicate messages of safety 💕

For the past couple of days, I’ve been experiencing some kind of brain fog, which is a fairly new symptom for me. It’s difficult to develop indifference here, because it feels like it’s impairing my ability to influence my brain and send messages of safety. Do you have any suggestion there?
@PainFreeYou2 жыл бұрын
Know it will pass. Hydrate, rest, messages of safety. If you are on meds, that can be a side effect. Ask your Dr. if you are on meds.

Insofar as the brain is part of the body, doesn't it make more sense to say that we don't need to convince our bodies but only our minds?
