Hey Josh, thanks for sharing. I've been in your boat since 2016. My flare up would be for any reason but definitely after intercourse. I know nothing is wrong with me structurally because I've done everything in the book, medically. 🙂. I'll be good. I'm sure of it as the symptoms would go away for weeks and months at a time. Thanks.

Josh thanks for sharing, I’m in a similar situation, researched also, CPPS, but rectal pain though, started 9 months after a UTI. Avid cycle racer, every pelvic pt said it was caused by my bike set due to cycling and don’t ever ride again. Cycling has been/is my savior and mentally it got me through serious life issues. As a long time believer in tms, cured my back pain 10 years ago and shoulder pain from weight lifting and 2 unsuccessful surges 15 years ago, zero pain when lifting and pounding on my mtn bike. I used to do 8 hr racing solos on my mtn bike with zero pelvic pain (everything else hurt, lol). Long story short found Dan and realized it’s gotta be TMS again, nothing else makes sense. 2 weeks ago I said fuk it I’m riding my bike again because there is no way your pelvic floor muscle is going to get chronic pain from a bike seat. Did a mtn bike race last Sunday ( wanted to see how I would feel because of the pounding). 1 1/2 hr race felt fantastic, told my brain throughout the race where’s the pain? Actually got a third place without ride my mtn bike since last Oct, incredible day, almost didn’t do it because driving down I was feeling pressure down there. Now it seems I only have pain when going to work, lol. I know this is a work in progress and it will take more time to be 100% but the fear is residing. My story, lol

I had to stop this at 9 mins as I am on the street walking and laughing bent over at how funny that part is. Mostly because it’s such a relief to hear someone talking about their obsessiveness with getting to the bottom of this. It actually relieved my symptoms. It’s mad coz I thought my new “issue” was defo TMS and that I believed it but actually there was obviously a little niggle of doubt because I never heard anyone speaking of bladder issues but this talk and the other guy are so good to hear!! Thank you Dan and your guest, it’s so lovely to normalise neurotic behaviour 😂😂 Working on letting go everyday 🙏

@@yuliaevdokmov8587 that actually good news. Why? That imo is one of the biggest signs that it’s TMS. Good news. There is nothing wrong with you. Think about it like this, if you broke your wrist, would that pain move to your foot? Or your neck? No. It would stay acutely in your wrist. This is good news because you have nothing to “fix” the fear comes from thinking there is something wrong with you yet you can’t find the resources to fix it. I didn’t say this in the discussion because i forgot but my pain moved and spread all over. My toes in my left foot were numb for over a year. It really sucked. My fear came from real pain that no one could help me and the drs were missing it. Once I realized nothing was actually wrong, i got better. You’re not crazy. Our healthcare system is tho. TMS makes no money. That’s why it won’t be accepted as an actual mainstream condition until we have a paradigm shift.

I don't solicit success stories, nor do I make it a point to understand all the medical diagnosis people were given. Stenosis is a medical term that pain is often blamed upon. What is less important than what doctors call it is how your symptoms behave. Have you taken the pain test? YourPainTest.com - if you score 30 or above, it's TMS.

I've been dealing with chronic prostatitis for 6 years and what Josh is saying is me 100%. The difference is that I made some major mistakes medically which cost me dearly and I have concluded that my issue is TMS related. Urologists are psycho. I wish this came on my radar screen 6 years ago. I can tell you my prostatitis destroyed my life; the pain is brutal and merciless, and I've been carrying it for 6 years. Now I am totally open and convinced TMS is the key! Josh says he tried everything. I bet he has not tried what I tried. Beyond madness!

@@PainFreeYou About a week or two ago my doc said that what I have is likely incurable and I would have to learn to live with it. This was before I learned of TMS. When the doc said this, I knew he was wrong, and I just ignored him. American medicine is seriously demented. I can tell you this. I have not been able to sleep through the night for over 6 years maybe 3-4 hours a night. Then I heard one of your short snippets and tried one of your suggestions. I went to bed at 9:30 pm and fully expected to awaken at 2:00 am like I do every night. When the pain started to manifest, I said to myself to ignore it for 15 minutes more. The idea was to last longer in bed before I could not stand it anymore. That is another curious aspect for me and that is that the pain comes when I am lying down after several hours and never when I am standing or sitting. When I finally got done doing this 15-minute routine of lasting longer with the pain, I thought it might be 2:30am. It was in fact 6:30 am which blew my mind and I actually felt good even though it felt like I had been fighting the pain all night. Sleeping until 6:30 am has not happened to me in over 6 years. After this last experience of being able to sleep till 6:30 am, I have been thinking I was on the wrong track with the doctors and for a number of other reasons too. Incidentally, I scored a 38 on that test that gauges if I have TMS or not. I have been living a hell on earth for the last 6 years that is hard to describe. This hell has destroyed my life. I am so ready for a way out and am giving this TMS solution all the leeway it needs to lead me out of this inferno! So far so good!!!

Hi josh! I really needed this video today! I am a woman and exactly the same thing that happened to you is exactly what happened to me in the exact same time frame except I spent $17,000 on pelvic PT and not a chiropractor. Like you never had one minute being asymptomatic and now it's going on 32 months. Did all the antibiotics all the testing, HRT, everything they threw at me and nothing helped. Finally just threw up my hands in the air and I'm trying to accept that this is TMS. I pretty much just started quote unquote living a normal life because I couldn't wait for healing any longer and was tired of missing out on life. So I literally just go throughout my day with the symptoms and not so much fear them anymore as much as I just get annoyed by them more than anything. They don't stop me from doing things but it doesn't feel good while I'm doing it if you know what I mean? I think if I had at least one hour of being pain free that would be all I would need to convince me that this is 100% TMS. But until then it's just hard not to believe that this is structural. I'm saving this video as well as the last two stories on pelvic pain to play over again when things get tough. I am so grateful that you did this interview, please keep us updated as I am positive you've got this thing beat!

I'm going through this right now. It's been two years all the tests, MRIs and scans and cameras sent up both ends. Nothing found. Tons of medications and supplements CBD is the only thing that helps ans I think it will be an integral part of my self treatment. I've finally made the mind body connection and started meditation and calming the f%$k down. This is so encouraging to hear and I know I will get there. Thank you guys. I just purchased the Sarno book as well a few days ago.

Wow thank you Josh @BeBrave! Your symptoms are same as mine plus I've got some back and hip pain thrown in just for fun, lol. So it's great to hear a recovery story. I discovered Sarno some 1.5 years ago but so far I have had a hard time letting go of the fear and focus, even though I know it is TMS. Did you at some point just say "F*ck it, I accept these sensations", and find a way to let go of the focus on it?
@bebrave9108
@bebrave9108 2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I probably said F*ck off to it 100 times. Lol. Getting passed the fear was a lot easier after I discovered meditation. I’ll respond with a meditation from Dr. Joe Dispenza that helped a lot. Also, my pain wasn’t just in my groin or pelvis, it was waste down. My toes were numb for about a year.

Great story Josh and thank you and to Dan too. Dan, slightly confused and want to ask you this..... You always say Dan to teach the brain there is no danger and consistent messages of this and that journalling is for all. Josh said he found it helpful to journal. Do you think that journalling is necessary at times Dan? As the pain is from unexpressed emotions surely they need to be journalled to come up and out? If the emotions aren't expressed then the pain would remain ? Sometimes it's a bit confusing as to straight forward brain safety will be sufficient for the pain but if there are alot of emotions undealt with unexpressed there surely they need processing in some way through journalling or therapy so the pain can release. Maybe different people need different approach ?

This is Josh. In my experience, journaling should be used for a tool as to allow repressed rage/ trauma to have a way out of the body. Not journaling to feel better or “fix” the pain but to allow a way for trauma to see the light of day and relieve the pressure. I haven’t personally felt a need to journal for a while but I’m not opposed to it. I have retrained my brain that I am safe and therefore there is no need to panic if something seems off physically
@PainFreeYou
@PainFreeYou 2 жыл бұрын
Journaling is simply a tool that can be used to teach the brain emotions are safe. Some have used it. Many have not. It was not part of my solution. So, it is not "required" but may be helpful depending on the person. The main point is that if the brain perceives emotions as dangerous, it may turn on pain to distract/protect us from those emotions. In my opinion, the best way to TEACH the brain that emotions are safe is to actually FEEL the emotions so the brain learns that you can feel emotions with nothing bad happening - thus emotions are safe. And with that, emotions are no longer perceived as dangerous and don't cause pain anymore. There are MANY types of perceived dangers. It's not JUST about emotions. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXepZZxvd76LkJI

Such a similar story to mine and same age but I’m not yet recovered. I can let the pain/aches go but I can’t for the life of me not get round the urge to urinate and the associated sensations/pressure. I understand that is the reason why it stays and grows as it bothers me so much and prefer the aches. One thing I don’t understand with the urge/frequency is that it’s something I can’t get round, It’s a function I have to do. I’ve let this ruin my life so far for 5 years and really trying to change my internal monologue now. IC/painful bladder syndrome is such a shit diagnosis with no explanation. I’m nearly there believing it is all TMS.

Dan, my teacher, what would be your (characteristically) succint answer to this question: how can you not pay attention to the pain when it's really really bad?
@PainFreeYou
@PainFreeYou 10 ай бұрын
I never suggest we not pay attention to it. We WILL notice it. It's how we respond that matters. We can respond with fear, frustration, anger, sadness....or, we can respond with clarity that we KNOW it's just the brain perceiving danger and is a false alarm. When we show the brain we are unconcerned consistently, the brain will eventually learn we are not in danger and turn off the pain or symptoms.

This is Josh from the vid. To answer your question.. yes. Now to be clear, I’ve had moments where I felt pain after healing. The trick is, not to entertain the pain by panicking and letting your mind run. Just recognize the pain and move on. It goes away. By doing this it trains your brain to not have a fear response, as Dan states. Anyone can heal in this area. Remember, it’s your brain. Not your body
