New Jersey, with one of the most diverse populations in the country, has long been the site of the movement of people-whether they moved voluntarily out of need or want, were forced or coerced to move, or found borders moving around them.
The 2022 annual conference comes during an eventful year that witnessed legislation enacted that established the state’s Black Heritage Trail and made New Jersey the second state to make Asian American Studies a standard part of its K-12 curriculum.
The moderator for Painful Archives: Amplifying the Voices of the Marginalized was Dr. Linda Epps. The panelists included Bonnie-Lynn Nadzeika, Dr. Katie Singer, Jocelyn Francis White And Patricia Atkins.
