What about ATMs and MRMs? I've gathered Bara doesn't like MRMs because of the spread (that's half the fun), but I don't know if SRM/LRM quirks affect either of those. I feel his current Agincourt build didn't work all that well. I think that one should build it as either a close-medium range, direct fire brawler or a long range, indirect fire artillery walker. On the latter, halving the structure for more missile weapons or missile ammo is fine. On the former, the mech is probably better served with more armour and structure, not less. An MML/ATM boat would fit well within the spirit of the role he seemed to aim for on the Agincourt. He still needs a BAP for it, though.

@@EricZakh I think ATMs n MRMs are in thier own catagory as i've been messing around with quirks looking for value changes. Concerning Agincourt quirks, I don't think MRMs n ATMs don't benifit from the SRM or LRM quirks unless theres something I missed while looking for changes.

I've had the same thing happen to my AGC, several times, I think sence it does so much indirect fire support that all the pinpoint balistics try killing him as soon as they get line of sight. I am enjoying this playthrough alot.

My first assault mech was a Stone Rhino - I was lucky... At the end of the first mission (in a 2 series) the Wolf Dragoons decided to stop me leaving. They destroyed 2 of my mechs killing the pilots and crippled a 3rd mech - but I was able to leg the Rhino. I had just enough salvage points to grab the parts to build the mech and the build came with all internals intact, I just needed to repair the armour (which was great as I had no clan stuff to put in it!)

Chuck some LBX10's on a Jagermech and it absolutely shreds and at a good range too 😉😜 MIA pilot is a defector! They ejected out and now they're on the side plotting against you 😅

Love this series! You could take the clan LRM20s off the Orion and put them on the Agincourt; it would make more use of the quirks and save weight.

ever notice in game that when you are moving and firing your own mechs step in the way of you shots and you own them from the back side? i even notice when i shift to side stepping they follow my shift in direction, i find it annoying as all hell

Those ER L Lasers (c) are for the heavy alpha punch. I use them, along with ER PPC (c) and I melt mechs, especially with good head shots

49:52 - You can not judge performance of mechs on a high-tier duel. In the highest difficulties, the enemy gets a SUBSTANTIAL artificial armor boost with max tier pilots and often T5 gear.

Having just recently bought & downloaded the Kestrel Lancers DLC, I was going through the campaign when I stumbled upon a Rare "Grand Dragon." Also known as, the Dragon DRG-1G. I don't know why, but the minute I saw "Grand Dragon" my first thought was "Ooohh. Ixnay on the Klan reference-a." And the funny thing is, it's not even a Clan Mech!

How do you get the Mad Cat to work in game? I have downloaded every mod, but it never shows up. Most of the mods tell me to edit the save file to give it to myself, which seems like cheating.

Cheating is not a thing in single player games since the only one you're 'cheating' on is yourself. And if you can life with that, who could possibly otherwise have an interest in telling you otherwise ;) *sometimes with a new RT release with 'neat stuff' I always exit my game right after the first save opportunity

Focus one mech at a time. Take em down and they aren't doing damage. Bouncing from mech to mech to mech to mech and doing tint bits of damage, gives them a LOT of time to focus down your mechs. If it's dead, it can't do damage and that's less being done to you

It was either two ER PPC or three ER PPC that core'd your archer out in one shot

Looks like, to me at least, the Archer took a few long range ML hits to the CT, then the opposing Thug topped the ridge and punched two PPC rounds straight into its CT. Armor was probably paper thin, and the two PPCs vaporized it and cored the mech all in one go.

Got Kelpie, couldn't understand a word he was saying lol. Picked up Snowshoe instead. Also have to say, I really don't like any of the Ultra ACs, a jammed weapon isn't doing damage, but the Ultra/2s feel like they're firing less often? I rather feel like steady fire from a normal AC2 is more damage because it's better uptime.

The Archer likely got cored because the pilot's skill was too low (only 6 on armor).

I think you can tune refit times a bit in YAML. I'm going to look into it the build times get into 100's of days easily

The Agincourt AI pilot stood on the wrong side of the hill while facing 5-6 enemy assault mechs on the flank of your group. All it took was enough attention for the difference between a 70 tonner in an assault's battle to show. Some of the enemy assaults had enough PPC and Large Laser fire put downrange to hurt. The composite structure upgrade didn't help matters either. With its setup as a mid-range brawler with SRMs, MLs and LRMs (which doesn't mesh well with the halved structure upgrade tbh), it was suboptimal at the ranges you wanted it to remain at, but it wasn't as if it was going to fare better coming in close enough for the Atlases to strike with their big honking AC20's. I honestly think you were lucky to only lose the CT there. How much do you think the loss of the Beagle Active Probe impacted what happened to the mech later?

Thug said no to the Agincourt. Major reason why my Hero Archer is sitting in my cold storage, it just gets shredded so quickly even with lrms and trying to keep it far away.

Has anyone gotten Better Spawns 3 to work? I get CTDs when I do any garrison mission. Even if I just go to that planet with the mission present. Don't have to do the mission just travel to a planet with the mission type.

I’ve had the same thing happen as your Archer did a few times. I look at their health bar and they are 98%(ish) then they get hit once and they are exploding for no reason…. Lol it’s really frustrating because of how expensive the repairs are with having to buy new engines to replace the ones you lose. Seems like the only time they drop from missions as loot is when you find a mech you want to piece together and can’t afford both… 🥲

@baradul Ultra Autocannons in general are garbage tier, the jamchance and the spread makes them always the worse pick of a regular Autocannon. You would get much better pinpoint damage and more sustained dps with any Regular AC weapon. Bundle that with the Adv. Ballistic, Sniper Sensor and the Targeting computers of higher grade you can output such an insane amount of projectiles you'll sandblast a hole through even the toughest of mechs.
