נאום אופטימי ומרגש שיוצא מלב כואב ומראש חכם. אם יראו אותו כל האנשים שבין הירדן לים - יש סיכוי לפתרון הסכסוך.

His final quote has been repeatedly misattributed to Gandhi, but his point is very well taken. Can there really be winners with peace?

It seems that he's speaking from the heart , but great nations are built by suffering , victims have the right to take their revenge from whoever made them suffer and it's not about bringing them back more than it's about justice . Peace without justice is a waste of time . i'm positive that great speeches and loud applause won't make much difference when the enemy knows that that is all what we have . I believe in peace but i believe more in justice as a base .

"It took Israel 32 years of my life to show ME a Jewish tear" Sums up the Palestinian perspective - Israel is to blame. He takes no responsibilty for himself, his way of thinking, his feelings. It took me 32 years of my life to open my eyes to a Jewish tear. For all his peace work, as long as he makes himself (and his community) a victim, peace is unlikely to exist. Victims are oppostional to the victimiser. Until the victim opens their eyes to their role in being a victim, acknowlegeing their role in the relationship, healing will not happen.

We Jews also see ourselves as victims. Two opposing beliefs can both be true. To quote Mr Awwad “Being right is not what’s important, succeeding is”

This is nonsense. Ignoring all what you have experienced as a Palestinian to convince other Palestinians, who might be living under more violent circumstances, of "peace" is unbelievable. You might have overcome the consequences of your experience, but others will never be able to forgive. Forgiving is not always a virtue.
