Your Inav knowledge past and present is going to be key to many peoples flying success. You are to Winged model owners what Josh Bardwell is to multirotors. By the way both of you are awesome and thank you

About to take on iNAV and building my first "real" FPV - a ZOHD Dart 250G. My introduction to fixed wing thus far has been a Parrot Disco. This is like moving from Windows to Linux! Your videos are greatly helping my research toward getting my first TX/RX/FPV Setup ordered and setup though! Thanks!

Skål! Thanks for putting all of the effort into these videos, you have helped me access the hobby just as much if not more than any other single thing. Besides some expendable income of course.

Thank you so much for your videos. I could make a successful quadcopter on F450 with pixhawk and test it in stabilize, alt hold , loiter and land modes. I owe the entire learning from your channel. Thank you so much !! Lidar has arrived and I wish to use the same sometime next week! Best wishes and God bless you

Here's the problem with inav= after correctly trimming the control surfaces using autotrim, the trim is sometime changed a little bit in the next time we fly the aircraft. In Acro mode this is not a big deal, but in manual mode this can be a problem as we should not use trim button on the TX.

Just had a successful flight with my Talon 250g and acro is the best way to fly it due to the tiny size of it. The size of the plane should also be considered.

Defintley. Most super lightweight planes and wings need a stabiliser to fly in anything but completley still air.. see my reviews. happy flying!

Thank you for the explanation of Acro! So I recently finished setting up a new ZOHD Talon GT and I have maiden the bird. The Talon felt way to sensitive on manual mode to me so I proceeded to tame down the model mechanically by installing longer horns on control surfaces. But it still needs further adjustments, ti is still a bit too sensitive. Which setting in INAV could I use to further tune the plane to be more stable and docile on manual mode?
@AdamGdoesFPV4 жыл бұрын
I guess this is all down to personal preference really, I'm not a fan of Acro, I only fly in manual because I actually want to fly my planes myself without the AP interfering. Cheers

Hi, you should probably mention, that it is necessary to adjust the FF already on the bench, before you use any of the stabilised modes in flight or even for launch. I think it is dangerous to fly any fixed wing model with a wrong, or most likely waaay too low FF, because the model will have probably way too less movement and therefor no authority in the sky and crash into something or just fly away. I always recommend to setup FF on the bench before first chuck to something like 80% of surface throw like in manual mode. At least the FF, then get it in the air and perform Autotune. Another absolute must have before first throw is to setup your rates properly, otherwise Autotune will mess up as well

Interesting. Thanks for the comment. See my iNav builds for how I do it. Works every time for me without that step. Happy flying!

INav... pardon my ignorance, but what is it? I am very new to anything outside of your standard transmitter receiver system but I’m looking at getting a flight stabilizer and maybe even something like an auto pilot, is that what this is?

Hi Lee. I need a bit of help if you find a spare minute? I have just migrated from inav 2.4 to 3.2. However, on the bench test every time I switch between modes, the RTH mode is displayed as acro mode. When the model is connected to the PC it is showing that it goes into RTH, nevertheless in my goggles still showing that it is in acro mode. Please help me!!. Thanks in advance!

The GPS modes will not engage on the bench/when not in flight. See my INAV 3.0 fixed wing mini series on the channel for how I set it up. Lots of setup tips in the two videos in there at the moment..

Just turn I off and use a high FF, acro becomes really good, with just the wind corrections.

Painless, thanks for your informative videos. When in inav angle mode is it normal for a fly wing to lose altitude in an aileron-only turn? I'm confused as to why level pitch isn't maintained during a bank. Any advice would be appreciated.
@Painless3604 жыл бұрын
Don't fly in angle - for a well trimmed plane - use Manual or ACRO. I don't fly in angle.. Best of luck!

Hey, I’m setting up a wing right now! How can I set up trims in inav? Is it just recommended to just use normal transmitter trims or will it kinda mess with inav?

So basically to start with - you just need Manual and Acro modes selectable - together with a switch for trim and tuning. Its confusing as Inav wiki doesn't realy say this.
@Painless3604 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't have both set on a model. I fly a lot of manual.. See my iNav series..

You should NOT recommend ACRO. AIRMODE is the best option on a wing. It keeps the PIFF loop active if you lower the throttle.
@TakeItToTheGround4 жыл бұрын
As AIRMODE is permanently enabled by default in INAV, maybe you & Lee mean the same thing.
